So my son and I were sitting around the garage bs ing and decided to weigh his bike ( 16 kx 250f ) and my play bike 04 the kxf was actually about 2 lbs lighter . I think yammie was full of shit on their weight claims back the . Yz 242 kxf 240 about a qt tank of gas in each

I remember seeing the claimed weight by Yamaha back then & thought it was off. In comparison to 02-03 CR2's an 04 YZ250 owned felt about 15-20 lbs. heavier when lifting it onto the truck or stand. Didn't actually weigh the bikes, but it was really noticeable.

I have not weighed my 97 or 07, but they feel about 10 pounds apart. Everything I can find says there is a 2 pound difference.... so to answer your question, I have no idea.

Comparing my 2013 YZ250 on the track to my 16kx450.... The YZ feels much lighter and more nimble. And if you're taking it one step further and comparing your YZ to a 16 yamaha 450 (Dump truck), I believe you even less. Carry on.

My 13 YZ250 feels lighter on the track than my 16 KX450F. But the Kawi wants to turn a bit easier.
