The garage sale bike is all freshened up and for all practical purposes is done. Even went riding this weekend. The family thought it looked too good for the ratty stock pipe so they hooked me up with some bling for X-Mas. Even with the pipe and silencer figured in, still less than 2 grand overall in it. Used up a favor or two in the rebuild process, but what are friends for??

Funny thing I noticed at the local track this weekend, way more two strokes than four strokes. Warmed the heart.

Nice bike! How does it ride, compared to a newer 450?

I keep looking for this increase in the number of 2 strokes at my local tracks, and I don't see it.

Good job on the detailing of the bike.

Even Mitch on his interview with TWMX, said he is seeing a resurgence of 2strokes around local trackes and especially in Europe.

Looking good. So strange that this is sort of a rare sight, my friends and I all had these at the time.

Laying on the floor in the garage. That is if they didn't get swept up and thrown in the trash! I put some elbow grease into cleaning up that arm, just couldn't bring myself to stickering it all up. The airbox decals were a stretch. And this was actually the first set of pre-printed backgrounds I've ever had. So, you'll have to cut me some slack.

You're asking someone who mostly rides 125's. I have never taken a full lap on a 450, never been interested. But it seems pretty smooth on power delivery. Not real hard hitting, but quick. Like a 2 smoke should be!

When's that KX going to be done!

Most everything is looking pretty good on it. Got the airboot all pieced together and fitting as nice as can be expected. PSI carb is on with a Yamaha YZ250 cable and throttle. PWR says my radiators should ship out next week. Been waiting on them for awhile. Got to get them fitted up and figure out where to weld in the coil brackets. Then the tear it all down and give everything a good cleanup. Can't let it be seen looking all ratty. For an 07 KX250F that was less than a year old when we got it, this thing was pretty rough. It will be sweet looking soon.

Newmann, I've got a stock pipe in my basement that I think csme from that year bike. Maybe it was a 2003. It's in new condition, you interested? I think it, with all the paint stripped would look way cooler than that big fat chrome thing.

If so, shoot me an email at rallendude at aol dot com.
