the one guy posts a lot of kx500 ads on there from ebay and craigslist.

What chassis you using for a build?

I'm already on kxriders

I've just got a 2006 ktm250sxf roller that I'm going to put it into, but it will probably be a longer term build

I have both, a KTM380 in a 2013 KTM 250 chassis and a KX500 motor in a 2005 KX250f chassis. The KTM motor when head work and jetting is spot on is by far a better MX motor. The KX is so fast it's hard to get slowed down and when the throttle is open, hold on because it's going faster than need be. You're better of finding a complete bike as a donor. Easier than lucking into a motor laying around.
