After a clean cr250, prefer 05-07, cash waiting for the right bike and will travel pretty much anywhere within the UK, drop me a comment here if you have anything as pm's don't work.

Thanks

How much $ does it cost to ship, & how much are good ones going for 'over there'? Just wondering if they are enough cheaper in USA to make shipping an option...
1/8/2019 4:47am
With the exchange rate so bad at the minute it's just not doable unfortunately, it'd be the cost of the bike plus shipping, plus around 30% on top of that once you'd paid the import tax and VAT... and i really don't want to buy without viewing it,
Importing from within the E.U would only cost me the shipping, but again , it means buying without viewing.

Prices vary widely here, unfortunately the majority are dogs, mainly due to our weather.. but i'm trying to arrange viewing one in Scotland at the weekend, 510 mile and a 7.5hr drive each way though... It's a 2005, relatively clean, straight, with talon wheels, ohlins shock, triple clamps etc and i can get that for 2300 gbp, maybe a little less, just a long drive.._

Just missed a nice 07 that was local that sold for 3k, i didn't check over new year, it got listed on the 31st and sold on the 2nd Sad

I don't need a standard, collector clean bike as i'll be building it anyway, i just want something with a clean frame, swingarm without scuffs and scrapes and something that's not covered in rusty bolts and been ridden into the ground.

Nice bike, I have an 03' CR125 myself, where do you go riding at? I don't live to far off in Union Bridge.

Could one ship it to you piece by piece ? Or would customs intercept it ?
1/13/2019 10:30am
I expect if you farted in an envelope and sent that they'd ask for another 20%.... nothing gets passed her majestys customs without their cut... and to be fair, i think the shipping would work out more probably, i appreciate the thought though bud.

Hopefully going to see an 06 on Tuesday, it looks ok, was road registered and been used on the road only for most it's time apparently, so should atleast be clean, looks ok in the pictures so fingers crossed, i'm getting sick of looking.

lol in holland is the same. 21% import unless the seller lowers the value under a certain $$ then it goes trough customs without asking.

a 2007 for sale in Holland. Piston new , bigend 13hours.

just be patient, you are searching a needle in a haystack.

Do you have an email address for him, i'd be interested at 3k, depending logistics.

Is he far from you, maybe if we can arrange a deal i could chuck you a few Euros to have a look over it ?

3k is a far price for that thing. The guy what have done the suspension know what he does. So that should be ok.
Had him do my shocks in past before i switched to ohlins. he lives in the same city.

I can give him a call to see what bigend(prox?) he has done. If the bearings are done all of them or only main.
Can ask him what brand piston what size piston.

Even i can take a look if you want and send you right away pictures. BUT i can't test ride. F%cked up my feet in september that i even can't walk normal right now. I can put it trough gears to see what it does.
I can check everything on the bike BUT i can't look in the engine.

If you want me to make the call let me know i will call him. it's 50km frome me where he lives so that isn't a problem

Thank you mate, i appreciate you taking the time to get me that info.

Send me his number please, i'll have a quick look into the cost of getting it collected, and if it's viable i'll hit him up for some info.

Also, super cool of you to offer your help in giving it a look over, if it ends up going that way i'll obviously cover your costs etc as it's me who wants it doing and you that's doing it.

Fingers crossed though, if it still looks like it does in that pic above it might be the one, the price is right, i won't have to pay any import tax or vat, guess it's all down to the condition of it and the cost of getting it back, and/or checking my passport is still in date...

Thanks again for your help, i had an advert on shiply looking for shipping quotes from Holland to England, which were coming in at 400+gbp hence me not ringing your friend, but i just managed to snag an 07 with 6.8hrs on it from new today, so my search is over, thanks again though, and if there's anything you'd like looking at over my neck of the woods just give me a shout, i'm happy to return the favour mate.

Well it was not my friend. But i spoke yesterday a guy that sa the bike and it was a turd to look at compared to my bike. Everything looks great on a picture. So glad that you did find a good one. Like i said before it's a needle what you are searching for and glad you find one!
Have fun with the red!

Thanks mate, and i know exactly what you mean, i looked at 3 that looked great in the pictures, but the pictures must've been as old as the bikes they looked so different .... Best one looked immaculate in the pics, turn up and it's missing engine mounts, rear brake pedal spring, loads of random bolts and absolutely coated in shite...

This one though, it's not immaculate, but it's 100% genuine, i bought it off the original owner so got all the paperwork, bill of sale, import docs etc,
He was a squadie based in the states for 6yrs, bought the bike from Lejeune Honda in Jacksonville in December 2007 and had it shipped in the crate along with a couple of k's worth of aftermarket parts, rode it for 6.8hrs then it's just sat in his house for 10 years...

It's on original chain, sprockets, tyres, grips, chain and sprocket have no wear, grips have no wear, i don't think a bolt on the bike has been touched bar the plastics.

Bad bits are, it's been knocked off the stand and has a bent right side rad, and it's also torn the right grip in the fall, it also has a tiny dent in the pipe, it's covered in 10yrs of dust, and the forks have a load of flaking to the kashima, it almost looks like the coating didn't take at the factory and it's started oxidizing underneath the kashima and lifted it.

Good bits,
Genuine 6.8hrs, there's not a mark on any bolt, no stone chips to the underneath of the swingarm or frame rails, no user wear on the chain, sprockets, any nut or bolt on the bike.

Came with a NOS full fmf system, gnarly + powercore 2, NOS pro circuit clutch cover, NOS renthal sprockets and did erv3 x ring chain , NOS ASV c5 levers, few little works connection goodies, and also a full set of kit including tech 8's that'd done 6.8hrs, and a really good workshop lift stand.

Been a good day, apart from the 420 mile drive...
