Looking for a YZ125 cylinder and/or power valves for my 2005 YZ rebuild project. Please let me know what you have for YZ125s 2005-2018.

I might be interested in a trade for my good used YZ144 Athena cylinder, head, power valves, top end. Looking to reset my YZ144 back to a true YZ125, mainly for rev-ability and reliability.

Hey, I have a 144 Athena cylinder for my '05 yz125 which I'm considering swapping onto the bike. It sounds like it takes away the fun factor? Did you like the torque at least? How bad was the lack of rev?

Ryan,
I'm building my YZ125 from a basket case, so I couldn't tell you about the power character with the Athena kit. I was mostly going off of what others had said about revability, but my main concern was reliability for off-road. As it turns out, I bought a new YZ144 cylinder kit from Eric Gorr and am building that instead. The reviews of this kit are solid, and I will report back. I might still consider building a 125 cylinder to have it there as a back-up if the right deal on parts turns up.

Cool. Yeah, keep us/me posted. I will probably buy a 58mm piston and run the 144cc cylinder too and see how I like it. I can always switch back too.
