Hello all. I am rebuilding a 2002 CR250R. I hit a speed bump with the forks. They are in great shape but the cartridge rods are pitted and will destroy my new cartridge seals. Searching via the major suspension folks found that the rods are available, but 110.00-150.00 each, with a 60-90 day lead time as they will have to come from Showa Japan...
I am looking into buying a whole set of forks, either to run or harvest the rods (or whole damper and use my tubes) from. I know that in ‘03 a larger piston was used, and I have heard in ‘04 a check valve was added to the rebound adjuster. I am also aware of the caliper mount change (04-05?).
Does anyone have a set of 02-07 CR250 forks they’d part with for 2-300.00? I know CRF forks fit, and would consider them but I’m trying to keep from revolving right away. I was also hoping to be able to use the springs I already bought.
Thanks in advance.
