Long time Yamaha rider and love my 18 450. Restored a yz250 and just don’t care for it much. Love riding the little bore bikes. Torn between the yz125 for obvious reasons but many years ago (2012 ish) I rode a 150 and thought it was the most fun bike ever. Rode a 18 350sxf recently and forks scared me a little. I’m a decently fast B vet rider. I’ve read every forum I can find on the 150’s and they seem solid.

If you do this for fun, and aren't searching for vet wins at big races, then buy the 150. I'd like to own one eventually too. If I ever make it to Loretta's again (on a 450, no way I'd qualify on a 150), I may buy one just for AT the ranch.

A 150 is the most fun you can have on two wheels.

150 with the KTM hard parts insert rips. I wasn’t a huge fan of the power on mine before I did that. It’s just as fun as my 125 now.

Unleaded tastes a little tangy. Supreme is kinda sour, and diesel tastes pretty good.

I’m Selling one here in a month or less.

2020 tm 144mx more topend pull feels like a 125 vs 150
Being shorter punchier power , and has sss suspension stock instead of air forks make you a deal on one !

Sold my 17’ 150SX and purchased a TC250. As of now I regret that decision. I’m 220lbs and still had an absolute blast on that lil thing. The 150 is fast but you don’t feel over your head at all, and all jumps are still in play, even for my size. I’m just old and could only ride that thing with any skill for 15-20 min at a time. If it’s not your only bike, I would highly recommend one.

Been there done that and even had Tom Morgan do it up for me. But in the end I wanted some torque. I bought 350xcf and couldn't be happier.

I’ve looked at this many times! You always have clean bikes.

I just got a 2020 ktm150sx. I’m 54 and my last bike was a yz250 2 stroke and a crf450. But I’ve always loved the small bores so I went this route... Only rode it once so far for a little bit, but I think it’s gonna be a blast to ride!!!
Made me get my toyhauler out of storage and get it back going again since I think it will be so much fun.....

I've come to profoundly respect that the wrong answers on multiple choice questions are often more valuable than the right answers ... for a variety of reasons.

You need to be a 150sx owner at least once in your life. That's just basic logic right there ^^^.

You don't know until you try ...

Built a YZ125 recently, own a 450F and 250F as well but sure having allot of fun on the little bike! The 150SX interests me quite a bit and I can see one in the near future. Wish Husky offered a 150 off the floor.

Anyone know what the weight difference between a 125SX and 150SX? Read the '21 125SX was 192#

The funnest bike I've ever had. Not the fastest, just the most fun.

That’s what I’m looking for. My yz450f is my race machine.

I'm glad someone else needs to be talked out of buying a 150sx. I almost bought a buddies 2018 150sx for $4,500 a few weeks ago. I've always favored the small bore bikes, partially because I'm built like a 12 year. The only reason why I decided not to buy it was the fear of wanting to race a few times a year. The plus 25A and plus 30A classes in my area are loaded with 450s and lets face it, I need all the horsepower I can just to keep up.

Does anyone know what kind of peak HP motor builders are cranking out of a 150?

I race my 18 150 in 2 stroke open or 125-150 2 stroke for the series' that have that class. I race my FC350 in 40+ and 45+. Occasionally I race the 150 in the age classes. It is the bike I practice on the most (by Far) and the one I have the most fun on. I have actually considered getting rid of my 350, but then I get killed on a start on the 150 and change my mind.

I have the Keihin carb and full FMF exhaust on mine. Couldn't be any happier with it. If I ever sell it, it will only be to get a newer one.

Peak HP was I believe 44HP. Do your self a favor and first mods should be a Keihin carb, shorty silencer, and a force reeds. Runs even better after that!

|

9/3/2020 1:58 PM

Keihin carb and the stic and the bike makes major power. Fmf fatty is a really good pipe, use the pro circuit shorty... it has the biggest outlet... all other silencers aside from stock have smaller outlet and loose power on the dyno.

LOVE my 150. Too much fun. Been debating, but think I’ll finally sell my 350. 150 is my bike of choice, and I like deep loamy sand.
