I have been through this. To mount my RM A Kit, I found a nice set of RG3 clamps from an RMZ and took take them out 1mm top and bottom which is fine as there is a lot of meat on those clamps.

Then for the bump stops, I bought these and bolted them in position with better fixings.

Those RG3 clamps are awesome, have had them on past bikes.
Also, having a good machinist bore them is a solid way to do it on a quality clamp.
I've bored a few for my friend's KX builds with later model forks, and A-kit stuff.

Sweet bike dude.

Measure your forks first. Rmz uppers are 55mm so might not even need to bore them depending on what “49” forks you have. 49 doesn’t mean a bigger clamp. New Honda forks are 54mm uppers.

what he's saying is, that it does not matter what the lower tube diameter is. Not all 49mm works (and now 49mm production) fork shave the same upper and lower clamping diameters.

Now I’m following lol , so I need to go get my clamps from my fab shop and put forks into clamps to make sure they fit correctly, or do they actually need to be measured? Thanks for the info

Measure both of them. Bore and the forks. Old Honda 48s are the same diameter of 49s
