So I recently bought an RM125 as a project. It was a 2006 and I didn't look at it too much on the FB Marketplace. I just saw it needed a stater and it looked intact so I bought it.

Turns out somehow there is a YZ125 motor in it, so really I have two questions, is this thing Frankensteined in there and ruined the frame?

And how rough of time am I in for in terms of finding an RM125 motor?

Should follow up, I haven't seen it yet, I bought it a town over about 200 miles away. But will post photos when I see it.

You might want to cut your losses before you waste even more money, the good engine really was 2005 thru 2007 or 2008 when they stopped making them. Its might be a hard find . And oem parts are very expensive

Got the bike and pictures of it, surprisingly the YZ Motor slipped right in, not to worried about getting a Stock motor back in.

Not a lot of options for these bikes in Alaska.

This one was 200 miles away so just pulled a trigger.

It was 500 bucks, just took a gamble. If worst comes to worst just use the engine in it until a RM motor pops up.
