I rescued this off Craigslist a couple years ago.
1985 CR500R
RaceTech suspension completely rebuilt. Have a spare OEM shock. Sprung for 250 lbs intermediate.
MX33 front and rear with one ride on them
New rear wheel (DID) and build done by Dubya
Boysen reeds installed a few months ago with one ride on them
Replaced steering head bearings last year
ProTaper KX High bend bars with risers (I'm 6'8" tall)
This isn't a garage queen but a rider/racer. Have run Klotz at 36:1 with Sunoco SS100 fuel. Would hold on to the bike for awhile but for a couple things. I wear size 16 boots and have clearance issues when kicking this bike. The throw on the lever is such that my foot hits the peg before getting a full kick which is getting old. Its got waay more power than I can use, although I appreciate the grunt, I'm wore out pretty quickly riding it! I have a Honda shop manual that will go with the bike.
Bike has title in my name. Thanks to the previous owner I paid the $500 in back fees. I put it on non-op as I only take it to private tracks and have an out of state OHV sticker for everything else. It loves Cahuilla Creek
$3200
