HRC rear brake caliper carrier

For my 2001 Honda RC250M I am currently making a replica of the billet pre-production rear brake caliper Honda ran on it's 2001 factory bikes to test the new Nissin rear brake caliper which came on the production 2002 CR and CRF production models. I was able to borrow a genuine HRC rear brake caliper carrier from an ex Bolley bike which I had 3D scanned (0,01mm accuracy).

I am all set for the first production run, the mold is made, CNC programs are written and tools are read in the machine. As for now, I am making a hand full of them but if there are more people wanting one please send me a message, the more carriers I can machine, the cheaper they get. Anodized in the distinctive champagne HRC color. This is by no means a profitable project, only touching the water because I preferably want to do one production run. Price will be cost of material + machine hours.

Fitment*:
Honda CR125R 2002-2007
Honda CR250R 2002-2007
Honda CRF250R 2004-2017
Honda CRF450R 2002-2016

*Although I will be using this carrier on a 2001 bike, it won't fit a production 00-01 bike as you will need a factory swingarm and the 2002 and up rear brake caliper.

Corne,

So it wont fit a stock swingarm with a 2002+ caliper? What is different on the Swingarm... the width of the slot for the slider tab?

If it is different, I would imagine it is just a matter of machining the little rectangular tab on the carrier a little more to fit the production swingarm slot, no?

@Tokyo_Tiddler: The slot on the swingarm is at a different position on the 00-01 swingarm

@MXandSXracer21: It will be 203grams, 6 grams heavier than the cast stock part (197 grams)

What did you use to scan the original? ATOS?

@rmoto003: it was done by a company in the Netherlands, it's a combination of laser scanning and measuring key points with a 3D touch probe. No idea which software was used.

@William Pawasarat: yes it fits last gen CR's 2002-2007, CRF250R 2004-2017 and CRF450R 2002-2016.

Maching is finished, next week the carriers will be anodized. I have one extra to sell.

Hi Corne,

What about producing a version that moves the 2 mounts for the caliper up slightly so that it can be used on 2001 and earlier CR's without any modification to the swingarm? I would buy both versions.

Only two were pre-ordered. Unfortunately MOQ is 10 pieces. 

When eight other buyers come around I can start up the CNC mill for this. At the moment I refunded payments of the above two gentlemen.
