I am interested in the blue/black and the blue/white set, my son's waist is 23-24", do you know if the 22's are too small? I have never bought him any gear to know how kids stuff fits and the wife buys all his clothes.

mx gear just comes in even inch sizes. if he's wearing 24" I'm sure the 22" will be too small. they all have the ratchet type closure like adult gear has so i always had my kids in slightly bigger so they could grow into it.

the yellow gear is 24" and would def work if he needs 23-24.
