What sort of 450 are you interested in? I have a 2008 Honda CRF450 for sale now.

Only would be interested in a 14+ 450 if it was a good deal, wouldn't be giving top dollar for it either.

Prefer to sell this for 6,000 and buy what I want

I live in Rhode Island and have a minty fresh 2015 CRF450R with under 15 original hours (hour meter currently reads 14.9 hours) Ditched the junk airs and did the showa spring fork conversion with new Race Tech springs seals and bushings and fork oil for 170lb rider (cost me $250 for conversion all said and done) Bike has Fastway EVOIII billet foot pegs, new Michelin Starcross 5 tires, new Renthal sprockets and chain, new TM Designworks red chain guide slider roller and rear disc guard, new Hammerhead anodized shifter valve stem caps brake reservoir caps steering stem nut and EVERY plug and cap on motor was replaced with billet Hammerhead (still have all OEM pieces) new Motoseat cover & full custom graphic kit were $200 alone, 269mm BRAKING front rotor (1mm smaller than the infamous 270mm after market kits that the fast guys run), MAP SWITCH on handle bars with three different modes for all different terrain (smooth/stock/aggressive), stock dual exhaust, motor has barely been broken in yet, has loads of compression and starts first kick, never seen rev limiter or sand. I paid $4500 for the bike with 6 hours on it and have taken it out riding 5 times since then. Bought it off an older guy who was a snail and rode woods (43 years old) he made a big mistake buying a 450 so as you can imagine the bike is still brand new and has never been crashed or rung out. i literally JUST bought a used 2015 KX250F last weekend for $3700 CA$H cause my 450 is too much for where i ride. WISHING i would have seen your post before i bought the Kawi cause i wouldn't have hesitated to call out of work for a few days and drive the 14hrs to Georgia and paid $5,000 cash for it or traded my 450F even-swap. I'm kind of sad right now. But if you wanted my 2015 CRF450 i would meet halfway, and add some cash. At least $800 on top of my 450, and it will come with all the OEM parts i have the original red Honda seat cover still brand new and OEM shifter, all engine plugs/caps, etc. Ughhhh. You're so lucky man!

I barely got $5k for a brand new 16 last June. It took forever to sell it. I know the new model year was coming out then which probably didn't help things.. Just saying.

New design probably hurt your sale, but to offer 4-5k for a new 17 250f is ignorant.

Agreed on hookups to a point,. But nobody is giving 1-2k away, even though the bike was won. Not many people give away 2 grand.

When was the last time you hooked someone up to the extent of leaving 1-2k on the table, especially to a stranger? I don't think it is a realistic expectation for someone to do that. Not to say it never happens but it's not the norm and should not be expected. Whether he got the bike for free or paid full list for it is irrelevant, it's worth the same either way.

I didn't even actually win the bike, my buddy did.

They made him pay $500 in taxes to get the bike, and he didn't even have the money. I was selling a 14 kx250f for $3500, so gave him that bike and $2000 for the 17. So I had $5500 into the 17.

Wasn't really even trying to make much. I would have been fine if it sold for 5500. Had a lot of interest though, and had it sold within a day. Guy drove 7 hours

pretty sure your buddy is going to have to pay income taxes on the bike, he will probably get a 1099 on the value (7500) and probably have to pay 1500 in taxes (20% tax bracket?)
