Contacted Ride Engineering and BRP Moto and they declined to perform this modification. One cited issues mounting the OEM clamps in their machine, the other declined due to liability. Both very pleasant to work with an prompt.

Any other reputable leads?

just my .02 but if you spend the money on a-kit suspension, i think u should spend the money on new triple clamps. they may not think its safe to bore out ur stock clamps, maybe it will take off too much material .

I do understand the logic, and it is good, but I prefer the flex of the OEM clamps plus my background is in mechanical engineering and I've assessed the situation and am comfortable proceeding with the analysis we've done for the application.

I really do appreciate the heads up though.

Safety first (really)!

Try trickeng.com, I think I’ve seen him bore out OEM clamps on his Instagram.

Any reputable machine shop can do it and with your mechanical engineering background you can provide the tolerance and size for a perfect fit. It's boring holes in aluminum.

depending on what year clamps you may only need the top clamp done. Also if its the newest gen a kit then you don't need anything done they fit into the 48/49mm OEM clamps.

I paid a local machine shop 50 dollars to bore 2 sets of clamps, I just gave him the tube I wanted it matched to.

Guys, SUPER appreciate all the leads, I think you've got me squared away.

The reason I was looking beyond my local machine shops is that "practice makes perfect" and a moto-related shop would have specific experience and tips should the need arise (plus I wanted to inject $$$ into moto-related businesses).

Really appreciate it!
