Came across the holy grail of garage finds last week, this 2006 rm 250 has never been started and has been living under a sheet in a garage sincce it left the dealer. Pictures dont do it justice. Tossing around the idea of selling it hoping it would go to a good home, i do not have any other plans for it other then it sitting in my house! If you have serious inquiries please get ahold of me at anytime on here or at my facebook at Jacob McConnell im new to vital so hopefully i did this right! SERIOUS BUYERS OR INTRESTS ONLY.

Dear God.... Been looking for this for years. How much? Second question out of mere curiosity.... what were your initial plans when you bought it?!? Assuming you purchased it new.... Gorgeous!

Whoever ends up with it should keep it as museum art only because the value will most likley be cut in half once ridden.

Honestly somone i new had a person they new that owned this, my buddy got ahold of me asking if i new anyone that was intrested and i went and picked it up imediatley because the guy didn’t actually know what he had. My plans for it are literally to store it in my basement as a piece of art.

$4500 tops, IMO

JWACK had an ‘04 with a few hours on it, along with a PC A-Kit for $4400 and couldn’t sell it.

I sold my ‘06 with 4 hours of use (on a fire road) for $4000 with a brand new FMF pipe and silencer.

Your a lucky man. After finding this, you better go play the lotto, because you are seriously lucky right now. Wink

I would love to make an offer on it, but I know what I would offer would end in me getting divorced. Sad

GLWS!

That would look really nice in my bike collection. How many Ben Franklins would I need to put in your hand for me to drive away with it?

Im in the "it should never be ridden" camp. A new in the wrapper bike like that should be on display somewhere. Like that CR500 that was still in the crate from a few years ago. Leave it in the crate.

Yup, the first ride will cost someone $3000. Keep it a virgin and someday it could be worth 4+ times that.

I can't imagine anyone would buy it to ride it. It' been sitting for 12 years, so you would have to go through the whole bike and replace every seal, gasket, ect. By time you do that, you'd be better off buying a brand new 250 from a dealer, which would have a warranty, replacement part support, and be a better bike to begin with.

I bet you put gas in it, change fluids and maybe fork seals and its fine.

I'm thinking that the offers will hit the ceiling around $5,000, and the buyer would be someone that would plop it in the middle of their man-cave and stare at it from time to time (which is what I would do).

The irony is, dealers couldn't give these bikes away back then. I remember a dealer by me trying to sell their inventory off for something like $4,200 each; and I distinctly remember ebay auctions not hitting $4,000 for brand new RM250's back then. EVERYBODY wanted 450's.

Quite possibly, but I wouldn't chance it on this bike. I'd just stand there and admire it for hours on end. For a few hundred $$$ more, you are in a brand new YZ250 if you are looking to ride.
