Anyone know where to get Ti bolt kits? Preferably for 2020 KTM 125sx.

I would definitely recommend Met-tec. Great quality along with good customer service. They have anything and everything you need and they will even customize items if you request. Look them up.

I’ve been using race tech, awesome customer service. Quality is great, had a few bolts show up that were wrong. Emailed them and they even offered 25% next order just for the small mistake.

Netted is hands down best quality imo, but I have bolts from all the above companies. They’re all decent. Each have their own pros and cons.

Whatever you do stay away from the cheap eBay crap for any of the Important/stressed bolts. They say it’s the same quality but it definitely is not.

I have the entire bike, except axles/ swing arm pivot and linkage.
They were on my ‘18 KTM 150 for less than 10 hours (like new condition)

Not saying it’s impossible he did it himself, but if you order from race tech or mettec they come in baggies labeled like that.

Nonetheless, langhammx is a good dude and you can’t go wrong with the stuff he is selling!

It’s an addiction. Especially on the KTM / Husky’s, the stock bolts look like crap as soon as you put a wrench on them.

They must not like me, cause I’ve never had them mark the baggies for me. Tongue
But I got OCD and figured it would make it easy for the next guy. I’ve done Ti hardware on just about every bike I’ve owned in the last 15 years. (It’s a sickness....Dizzy )

Met-tec doesn’t make everything. I’ve done complete bike kits on several brands and Met-tec has never been able to fill the order. Just my experience... but they do sell quality stuff. I’ve been using Racetech for several years for most of my bikes, although I’ve found the DocWob has lots of the specialty bolts that I couldn’t find anywhere else.

Really? That’s kinda weird. I know it depends how you order them. If you order each individually they obviously don’t mark them for you, but if you order the “kit” for the clutch cover they usually come labeled for that.

This is not a full bike kit, but a nice starter kit....
6mm bolts are the cheapest part of the kit. The specialty bolts (brake parts/ axle nuts/ cylinder head/ foot peg pins/ steering stem/ fork guard/ banjo bolts/ kick starter/ sub frame/ oil drain plugs/ chain adjusters) and the 8mm and bigger stuff (motor mounts/ shock bolts/ triple clamps/ pinch bolts, etc) are where the bigger expense is.

I have had axles, swing arm pivot and linkage bolts on other bikes and had nothing but problems with them wearing grooves on the shafts. While on some bikes, the weight savings can be worth it, the KTM’s axles are pretty light compared the jap bikes. I had a rear axle from Racetech wear through the PVL “gold DLC” coating after just 3 hours of use. I’ll never waste my money on axles or swing arm pivot bolts again....

Interesting, I have Mettec swingarm pivot and axles in my kx125, no issues or grooving whatsoever. They have some kind of costing but I can’t imagine it’s anything that couldn’t be worn through

Josh (Racetech) refunded me on the axle, but also said that the factory teams go through them pretty quickly and that he didn’t recommend them for people who aren’t servicing them on a regular basis. (Which I do...)
This has been confirmed by friends who are mechanics on the factory teams.

No need to validate what you’re saying, I’m not saying you’re wrong, just stating my experience with the axles and swingarm pivots I have. I check them regularly and none are worn yet. I also haven’t had any issues with my linkage bolts..maybe I got a magic set.

When Vital has that story with mettec he said the same thing, but he included linkage bolts into that group of things that Wear quickly.

No worries on my part, sorry if I came off defensive, wasn’t meant that way. My reference to the race teams was about not being for the average guy who isn’t tearing the bike apart on a regular basis. There is also some issues with “galling” when mixing metals. I use either RedLine assembly lube or blue loctite on every single bolt when I install Ti. I’ve had a case bolt pull the threads out of the aluminum cases in the past as well as a couple of triple clamp bolts that froze up and pulled the threads out when trying to remove the Ti bolts. Assembly lube or loctite has solved this problem for me. Some use the Ti anti-seize, but I was told it isn’t the best.... probably fine, but I’ve had good results with the others.

The Met-tec material may be better, I’m not sure. I’ve had both brands, along with a set from the UK that were on my off road bike. Too be honest, I sold the bike with the Met-tec ones on it and they had some visual wear, but nothing major. But it was kind’ve a garage queen and didn’t get too much use.

I have pics somewhere of the Racetech ones that grooved at the bearing, I’ll post them up, if I can find them.

This is what my rear axle looked like. ( pic is not my axles, using it as an example) Enough wear to create a groove that your finger nail catches on. Eventually stress cracks can appear and cause a failure. My advice is to remove/ clean/ inspect and grease on a regular basis, if you’re going to use Titanium axles and swing arm pivot bolt. Along with linkage bolts and even shock bolts.

I've got a full racetech F/R/Pivot setup on my project bike. When you said the factory teams 'service' these more, do you mean 'replace'? Think a tight service interval with lubing would help much in reality because I know the Ti ones are way more finicky than some OEM steel.

I’m told that the Ti axles/ pivot are replaced with new, every year, some twice a year. I suppose the teams budget would dictate how much wear is acceptable, but I was referring to the bikes getting torn down after every race, inspected and re-greased. But with mine showing signs of wear so quickly, I’d have to agree with you on the Ti being kinda finicky....
