Why do people need to know or care why you would "id buy it if" ?

I'd buy it if it were down the street
I'd buy it if I didn't just buy one last week

I'd buy it if I had someone to ride with
I'd buy it if I didn't have a drug addiction

If corners awesome front end sticks, stays in the rut can slice and dice but is super stable as well handles a lot like a Cr in that 05-07 era but a tad better imo

Interesting.. I have yet to ride on a chassis / suspension combo that corners & handles better than a 3rd gen AF CR2..

I have two bikes in my possession that handle and corner better than the 06 cr250 that I briefly owned, 96 cr250, and a 19 300sx. I read so much about how great the 02-07 cr chassis was, and that the engine had potential, that I bought one a few years ago. I had the cylinder base cut, head reshaped, and put a kehin carb on it, imo no aspect of that bike was as good as the 96 cr, much less the ktm. I sold the cr to buy a new 14 250sx at the time, and never missed the Honda at all.

A good friend raced a 96 CR250 in the mid 90’s while I was on a 93 CR250. He was no slouch so the engine had some mods with also suspension work done.
No doubt the 92-96 CR250 was & still is a very solid platform, but a well set up 3rd gen AF CR is a superior bike when set up right.
The base milling is one of the worst mods you can do to the 02-07 CR250. I test rode an 06 model several yrs. ago with .025” milled off the cyl. base & felt it completely ruined the powerband IMHO..
If you ever come out to CA let me know. You can put in some laps on a couple of well set up 03 & 07 CR250’s I have.
My good friend passed away a couple of yrs. ago & up until then he tried to buy my 03 model through the yrs.. He acknowledged that the 3rd gen AF CR was a much better all round bike after mods..
As far a KTM it seems like it’s an acquired taste. I’ve test ridden them going back to the early 90’s to as recently as 17 models & have to say I’m not impressed.
