Ok so I’m looking at a 2007 250sx near me and the owner wants 2,500 but it needs a top end and isn’t running due to a bad piston... I think that’s too much for it not running but then again I don’t know too much about bikes and prices? I have a friend that could go with me to look at the bike here’s some pics below

Owner had also stated that he didn’t properly seat the clip on the piston that’s what caused it to go bad and scratching the piston

Thanks for the response. So I was right? A top end being bad will drop down the value that much ? I was originally thinking no more than 1500

That bike in excellent condition is barely worth 2500. Ktms of that era dont have much of a following.

That’s also not a 2007. They redesigned them that year, it’s most likely a 2006 based off the black fork tubes and old body work.

That’s a $1,000 bike at most as is.

What are some good newer 125 or 250 i might go trail riding from time to time but mainly street or in a open field

Dude, I have a 2009 250SX with a 300SXS big bore kit I’ll sell you. You literally won’t find one nicer. I completely went through the bike in the winter of 12/13 to powder coat the frame and have never even sat on it since I put it back together. The bike has 23.1 hours on since I pulled it out of the crate back in 2009. The 250 head, piston, cylinder, and CDI are also included. That top end only has 10 hours on it.
