MB-3 was etched everywhere. Probably stating the obvious but would SR-3 correlate to Stephane Roncada - 3

I spoke to Mike Brown's former Honda of Troy mechanic and he said the MB-3 stood for Mike Brown 3rd race bike.

I believe Brown and Roncada had the same mechanic at HOT and YOT.

Yeah, it was tough to see it go. It was the most complete race bike I have found, just needed suspension and bars.

Apparently it's for sale. The buyer I sold it to has it on a local classified here.

Did some more digging around today on the bike. I found what appears to be S Race on the front caliper carrier and on the subframe it it says," SR -3" and I can't make out the rest it appears to be "aces" so probable races. Also the carb slide is DLC coated and the clutch actuator arm is extended.

Not 100% sure but I think I am getting closer to figuring it out. I've been talking with his old mechanic. The only thingis a sub frame really can't be a 100% guerentee it was. Either way I'm pumped on the bike.

Sick bike! Can't wait to see what trick stuff that's hiding inside the engine if you're going to tear it down!

The motors were just port matched and highly modified ported cylinders. Not much ti hardware inside. They did all the motor work in house.

Will you be riding this beast? Very nice find.
I dunno I may. The problem is the fork seals and shock seal is blown. I'm not sure that I really want to keep pouring to much more money into the bike. All the little pieces that were missing and some other things are adding up very fast.

N-style did not have the actual art file saved. They have been working hard to get this nailed. They are just about ready for print. A little more tweaking on the shrouds and trim kit, then they will be printed!! The Dragon won't be hologram but a shiny silver, which is gonna be fine. I talked to them about the hologram but it would be very expensive to have them screen printed, so I just opted for these!

Awesome bike!
I have a Japanese Team Yamaha Works billet shifter that may fit that bike.

It's a nice shifter for sure. I would use it if I were building a one off but, since this is a restore of an ex team bike is like to keep it original. Thanks for the offer though.

Every now and then a squirrel gets a nut. I honestly lost hope on this DSP carbon clutch guard. I didn't think one would ever show up. I was happy with the one I trimmed out but this one really takes the cake. The tabs must be welded in the frame so I figured they were all used and on a bike or scrapped. Here it is!

Where are you guy's finding team bikes? I would pay an insane amount for one of these. Do you have ties in the industry or something?

Just exactly how much is " insane amount of money " you speak of? This bike won't be for sale but there are some out there.

Should be as it was comming off the Race trailer. I was missing a few of the ymus titanium bolts and I have since tracked them down. I am missing only 3 pieces to the puzzle, the billet factory linkage, the magnesium bar mount top clamps, and the cdi. I doubt I'll ever find the cdi but, the linkage is in the works right now. I may have one in the next month or so.

man i love seeing these threads.

about ten years ago i came across a kx125 02. it was a team green bike. it had the pc fork caps that were flush, a cut subframe, and had JS etched into the cylinder and subframe. I can only speculate that it was James stewarts bike as i only had it for a few months and sold it
