This is my 98 KX 250 project, still incomplete but is moving forward.
I'm looking for flo green side panels and a number plate, also the "250" swing arm decals

Wow! That's beautiful! Look forward to seeing final product. What else do you already have planned for it? I have a restored stock 98 kx60, with minor mods like Ohlins (with tank) suspension and a few other minor things, but also a rare and smally produced and discontinued FMF "fat boy" pipe, which they were sued over the name by Harley. I have a huge soft spot for the nineties bikes and colors

Thanks! For the most part it will be a stocker, I have a set of 05 yz250 forks i may use for the lighter axle setup if they are not too hard to convert (both bikes have 46mm kybs)

Thanks a lot! I will get the 96 seat cover, swing arm decal and radiator decals from eco mx, I'm thinking of lacing up new hoops, and anodizing the hubs violet as well. Really trying to get the white number plate and side panels gone and replaced with the flo green first, they are proving to be tough to find. I know acerbis and KHI made them

It's powder coated, "illusion Violet" by RGB powder coating in grass valley ca

98 was bike of the year..
I have a clapped out 98 that I'm gonna run on the dyno.
Then we will do some rebuilding and further dyno work.

Looks like yours is off to a good start..

They ran purple frames for a few years, i have a 220 with one. i was riding a 95 kx250 in 97-99. And being a huge prince fan, how could i not like purple

Nice build, the final pic should be pretty darn good..

I don't know where BFA is, but in the USA, we never got a KDX with a violet frame.

I think that an SR version of the KDX in Japan (maybe elsewhere) got a violet frame. I think the KLX650 had a violet frame one some version / year. I am not sure.(yep, Partzilla shows 1994 / 1995)

I just got some decals in from Evo-mx and the stuff is top notch! Pretty good price too and they custom made my shroud graphics.

Looking forward to seeing this bike complete. I’m building up a 97 right now. Looks like you found your seat cover. If you change your mind I have a NOS Tecnosel flo green and purple that I’m not going to use.
