"This has got to be the Trickest Build" Rickyisms - the thing is, throughout all this time, it seems he's got a couple, or a more , exotic builds going. Just an indication of that in the last ( well, October last year) few posts are the 2 different Billet Cased Engines he has in the pictures...... ones a Hydro Clutch, the other a Cable one.
I suspect these CR builds are but the tip of the Iceberg that Hulks got on his hands.
Hello. Love the Graphics with the green hulk in the background! I just read the whole thread for the first time. Your dedication to the craft is lovely. I like to work to save weight on my builds and that can be a real pain in the butt at times and quite time consuming.
I don't bother to post my work and projects, I'd be too embarrass as to how slow I am at getting the work done.....
Did you check the crank runout on the KOC crank? I had them do a few and they were really out of whack, forced me to get a crank stand and check everything before assembly.
I see you are using Hinson baskets. The last few I've used for CR5s the inner gear which should be a press fit just slipped right in at room temp, not a good thing. Years ago they had to be a press fit or freeze heat method.
You have officially cured me of wanting to build custom CR5 pipes!!!! I have a Bills pipe on hand that has seen better days and I wanted to recreate it. Best stamped pipe IMHO.
Hats off to you on the build.
