So a few months back I purchased a hold over 2017 TE 250 Husky, I ended up getting a pretty good deal on it at right at $8000 out the door.

https://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/With-the-approval-of-my-…

I now have a whole 10 hours on the bike, I know it's time for a new one. My wife and I just had our first child and I haven't had much time to ride lately. But even so, I did find time to do a few enduros and GP's on the bike.

For the 2019 race season I plan on racing a local GP series. This will make it much easier for my wife and son to go to the races and actually see the racing, plus I can race my vintage Husky in the morning and my TE in the afternoon.

So since I plan on racing the GP series I'm going to try to get a little more pep out of the bike. In stock form the engine is super smooth and has a ton of chugging power. I am now installing a TC head and CDI. I'm hoping this will give the bike more of a hit. I also kept the mx tank off my TC 125, it will be finding a new home on the TE. I think the bike will look pretty cool with lights and and small tank.

Ooohhh, this should be a good build. How do you like those XPLOR 48 forks?
I like them a lot in the tight technical stuff, but they bottom really hard on big hits. I think I'm going to have my local suspension guy do some work on them. They work way better than the 4cs forks that were on my 125.

So I took the bike out for a spin yesterday. Just the TC head made a huge difference, a lot more snap. I need to mess with the jetting some, but I am going to wait until I install the TC cdi box. Even in the mud the bike felt so much faster. I can't wait to try the different ignition.

So over the weekend I finally got around to installing the TC CDI box on the bike. After adjusting the jetting, I took it out for a spin. All I can say is, WOW! It made a huge difference. The track that I rode it on was sloppy muddy, the bike was too much. I think the TC ignition is the ticket for when the track conditions are great, if it is muddy I will be sticking with the TE ignition. The bike has not where near the low end and a way harder hit with the the TC ignition.

I had a 2016 TC 125, I sold it when I purchased the 250. I'm thinking about doing the same graphics on the 250, this way it will match my 83 WR250.

Over the weekend I decided to remove the anodizing from a few of the bits that I have on the bike, oil fill plug, rear master cylinder cap and extension. The oil cap was starting to wear and look kind of bad. I think it turned out pretty good, makes everything look a little more factory.

Looking good. Do you mind sharing what you used to remove anodising?

I used oven cleaner. You have to used the good stuff in the yellow can, not the environmentally friendly stuff. Spray it on and let it soak for about 10 minutes, then I put it in my ultrasonic cleaner. I used this same technique to remove anodizing from a set of older KTM forks a few weeks ago and it worked great on them as well.

Slavens makes one for the 300, but according to the website you also have to use a higher compression head.

I think it all depends on what type of riding you plan on doing. The TC CDI was a bit much in the tight technical stuff that I normally ride, but I will use it when I race the wider open GP's. My bike with the TC head and CDI reminded me alot of my 2016 TC125, but just a lot more power.

A couple weeks ago I purchased a used Rekluse Radius CX for the bike. After I installed the clutch I could not get it to work right, no matter how I adjusted the slave cylinder the clutch drug at low RPM. So after a week of messing with it I broke down and did something that no man ever wants to do, I called for help. I spoke with the guys at Rekluse and they gave me a few ideas to try. The clutch originally came with silver and grey springs installed, they suggested that I install a set of red springs. Luckily my brother had a set, this did the trick! Apparently the first clutches had the grey and silver springs, and they had issues. So now the new clutch come with the grey and red spring set up. I can't wait for it to dry up so I can do out a test it.

So a little update on the bike. I've installed the Rekluse clutch and finally have it tuned in correctly, installed new frame guards, and a different set of shrouds. I'm trying to decide if I want to have graphics made just like my 125 or something different. The bike looks alot better all white.

So a little update. I have installed new shrouds and white radiator louvers, reinstalled the large tank, and threw on a set of Hoosier tires. Pretty excited to try the tires out.

What are your thoughts on the Radius CX clutch?

I actually like it. I had a Rekluse in a 250F Husaberg and I hated it, but the more I ride this bike with the clutch the more I like it. It helps ALOT on the tight technical trails.

So it's been a while since I've given an update on the old girl. I've decided to go a different route with the looks of the bike. New Guts seat cover, shrouds, fork guards, and graphics. It should match my 390 pretty good when it is done.

I haven't been able to race the bike much with work and the kid taking up the majority of my time. I was able to help the local club, ADR, put on a national enduro and I raced a local "Family Enduro" which are like mini sprint enduros.

I think this turned out pretty sweet. There are a couple things I would change with the graphics (darker yellow backgrounds and gold on the shourds) but I think it looks killer.

That's good look'n. I'm a huge fan of the white frame, was kinda bummed when Husky went away from that. Both are great loook'n bike's.
