Looks awesome!
I have to say cms was great also. I got about 90% of every gear, washer, and spacer in the entire motor from them. Don’t ask how much it cost!! I don’t even wanna know. Figured it would be good to have perfect nos samples if when had to have Stevie or Chris make us new parts from scratch if some crucial part gets hard to find.
I’m REALLY hoping Stevie will make us a set of billet gears using the Magen heavy duty ones as the base.

Thanks guys! Runs as good as she looks. Perfect compression on the original cylinder.

I buy a lot from various European countries, but is amazing how CMS in the Netherlands can often have the parts at my door in New Jersey in 2-3 days max! I don't know how they do it as I am not paying for expedited shipping.

Amazing build that rivals your 2G RC250 build for coolness. I had a '78 CR250, and it transformed my MX career. This is a great read on a cold midwestern winter's night.

My son and I both have 82 CRs (250/125) that we've tried to keep as close to stock as possible. They are VMX race bikes, so it's tough to keep them looking great. I've been pondering having Phil Cox restore my fenders -- after seeing yours, I am inclined to swallow the cost and go for it. Thanks for taking the time to share your beautiful work with the rest of us!

That is great that you share this hobby with your son. Phil can do a great job on your fenders and what I would do is during the cold months you put on the original fenders restored by Phil for when you go into your garage during the winter months to look at your bikes, but if you ride the bikes in the warm months, remove them and put on the VMX replacement fenders which are also very nice.

Should be Bike Of The Day For Six Months. Congrats to you and a solid Salute for keeping this bike as original as possible.

Runs great, too.. starts 1st or 2nd kick. Hard to believe there is no dry rot on any of the original rubber. I think I still owe you guys a sound recording/ video of her going through the gears up the street Smile

She is a beauty, Rob! Is it a rider or a garage/ living room queen? I think I see her sitting on nice carpet Smile

yes, but I built it, 79 base bike used
I had a new 1980 CR250, but it only lasted 2 weeks, of 5 hrs a day practice, fell apart, frame broke, plating came off
of cylinder wall, pipe fell apart, sold it for 350.00

Thank you Ledger! Looks like it did become bike of the day thanks to you! Also thanks to Stevie Denton for all the cool HRC replica hardware he made for this bike.
