RM 125 Super Evo Project

Just picked up the next project bike. Was a killer deal and had to get it for when I finish the crf 450 build.

Guy told me it was a 1992 but think it’s a 1991 as the rad plastics go around the front of the fuel tank and I think they only did that 89-91. The bike come with a lot of spares some junk some ok and a rolling frame oh and I new power coated frame.

OP, that's a 1990 RM125, the first year of the USD forks. Other identifying features are the blue frame (which became yellow in 1991) and the Full Floater decals on the swingarm.

‘89 RM125 had conventional forks, and went USD in 1990.

‘89 RM250 had USD forks.

Enjoy the restoration.

Going to making a start on the build soon, Ended up with a husqvarna in the shop with a few new parts going on 🙈

Just got some razorback tyres and tubes at a great price 👌🏻

Been some time on my post but made some what of a start on the bike. I’m not doing a full nut and bolt rebuild, I’m swapping over the frame and tidying up some of the other parts. Iv got some new parts like tyres and brakes etc

But this is wear I’m up at at the moment, next step it to get the engine out and give that a clean and freshen up but isn’t all that bad

1/19/2021 7:04am
Got the engine out today needs a good clean and going to spray a few parts to make it pop a little

1/21/2021 3:13pm
Gave the engine a wash down and fitted into the frame. Had a few little problems where the holes not been plugged so has paint in there making it a little hard for some of the bolts but not a nightmare.

I ended up painting a few parts like covers and rear brake lever

Come out well for a spray can, added some new bolts to finish it off

Got the new Twenty front sprocket on, 13 teeth replacing the old 12 teeth

Only a week late on the new disc and filter 🙈

2/1/2021 4:43am
Got the new twenty rear sprocket and rear brake disc on plus the new razorback tyre

Got the vht exhaust heat paint out on the down pipe just to get it a freshen look and gave the exhaust tip a clean up. I know know this frame is not a 91 as there is a few little bits here and there where parts not match up. eg when fitting the down pipe it has a bracket to attach to the frame on the lower part but the frame has no hole. But got it on and it’s not going anywhere. Think it looks good as it’s coming along

Got what there is of the electrics together, again this frame doesn’t have the bracket so had to zip tie them to the frame in the same location.
