Craigslist strikes again thanks to a buddies tip. This 1500.00 jewel will soon be tranaformed. Well maybe a year or so. It will get the same treatment as my 02 Plano Honda shark bike. Atleast this one is running. Hunting down parts and dissasbly will begin. This is all for now!

It was well worth it. Not sure when I will get to it. I'm just gonna put it in boxes for now. I may start on it in the winter. I have learned on these to not start the build until all the parts are here.

Jiri Dostal's bike?

Pretty awesome man! I wish I could come across these kinds of bikes like you do.

I knew someone was going to get a good deal. I would make a Tedesco bike if it were mine! I used to ride out at a track called northern with him when he was on that team.

I'm not sure what I'm gonna do. Probably will do it tedesco. As of now it has a Paul Currie hubs and a Jiri Dostal bottom end of the motor. But tbhats just hownit went at the end of the seasons. I didn't get so lucky with the cylinder and pipe on this one. That's ok though because I know where some are!

I'm suprised that the bottom end didn't get a ton of love. No extra time to get the castings off or anything.. Just a case match and looks like they opened up the intake a bit. I wonder if the bottom end was off a practice bike maybe?

No bottoms end is race engine. They took the top end. At the end of the season they would strip as far as they could and then put stock stuff as much as they could. Plano ran a 95-99 cyl. I have a cylinder in the works! The bottom end got a lot of work. They took a lot of material from the intake. Just hard to see in the pics but it's legit. The #2 is a back up motor. That's why it says jd#2

I didn't know they were nerver great! Nothing left to do now except find parts. There is still a lot of work to do. I must finish my yz before I put any more labor into this.

A small taste of what this bike will shape up to be. It's going to have all ti hardware, I was able to get my hands on two more team pipes made specifically for the hpp cylinder, and also original seat cover with shrouds, another nice piece is an original v force, dyna fs cdi and original stinger silencer. Since there is actually no way to tell who's bike it was I think I'm just gonna go with #42 of Ivan Tedesco!

Things are escalating quickly on this build. Parts are comming in regular. I will start the second and final cleaning phase of the frame sometime this weekend.

I bought a big box of parts that came off the Plano rig. Double check your bore size before ordering a top end as well there were some top ends in that box that lets just say were a bit over size.

Yeah I remeber you saying that. Mine had a stock cylinder 01 style. I have a cylinder in the works I'm buddies with an old mechanic that still has some of the hpp cylinders. Just waiting for him to dig one out. I'm a ways away from building the motor back up so I have time.

Billyslad hooked it up with the cylinder. I also found a trick kehin carb that will be going on the bike. Although Plano did not use it. I can't help myself but to put this on there.

4/28/2017 3:34pm
I assume that is a pwk a/s carb? Im just wondering, if you buy your pwk carbs used, how do you know its a actual keihin one? im looking at a few on eBay, but im not sure what is a cheap china one, and what is a real one.. I do want to score a good condition use one for a lower price than a new one.

It is a pwk but it's been machined and has lot of work done to it. They used them on the pc/ and factory kx 250s. I just sold two stock pwk's to a guy in Florida for like 125.00 run about 175 used. I have bought them new from jd jetting. It's almost more logical sometimes if parts are missing. This is a special carb though you can't buy it like this.

Yeah i saw it, I was just a little late hahaPinch Please post in the bazaar thread if you are selling another one. It is going on a 03, so i read somewhere that it has to come from a 99-00 cr250. Not sure if its right..

Most of the ti is here now. I'm just waiting on a few odd ball length bolts.
