Well , like the title say's , I didn't really do a build thread on this one , but more or less just wanted to show the final part of the build.

I bought the last 18' I could find out here in the NW about 5 months or so ago. I bought it a lot earlier than I was expecting to , so it sat a while. But anyways , the past two weeks I spent the time to tear her down to the bare frame , and use assembly grease or loctite on every nut and bolt on it.

List of parts , and / work I had done.

Milled head from 0.065" to 0.045".
New PWK 38 with JD jetting kit
New Boyesen Rad valve
New Scalvini pipe
New Husky edition FMF powercore 2.1
Modified airbox
Carbon Pro Skid plate
Carbon Pro Clutch protector
Carbon Pro Gas tank protector
Acerbis X-grip frame guard's.

Side note : I didn't build my 125 , as I had another guy do it ( Thanks Joel ! ) And I could not believe the lack of grease ( especially in the rear end! ). Enough grease to put on the end of a Q-tip was what I found in the rear linkage. The steering stem wasn't bad , but the grease they use is like thin Vaseline. Another picture attached here is the horrendous piece of shit stock reed cage. Along with what the Rad valve looks like compared to it.

I knew 90% of the thing's I was going to run into , in this build. I was expecting it. And now that I have fixed everything ( except suspension , which goes to FC in a couple weeks ) this should be a pretty badass bike. It will be a perfect match for my 125. And after 35 years of racing and riding , this is the first time I have ever had a matching pair of bikes! I can't freakin' wait !

OH!!.....forgot to mention , I hate needle bearings! Which just so happens to be what's in every dang linkage part on this bike. And with hardly no grease to begin with , they pretty much imploded on my as soon as I pulled the shaft out.

Good god! Why not put them in a race!!??

My 125 for reference. New number plate back grounds are here now , so I can fix this bike. Dorked it out with the one's in the pic.

Sweet. I just did the first top end on our tc125, its bonkers how quick they come apart and back together

That's one nice ride

Stunning!

I found that the throttle pull on these bikes are extremely heavy compared to the four strokes. If you’ve find the same thing, go for domino throttle setup. Probably the best mod I’ve done to mine.

It's about normal I think. Both my 125 and 250 are running PWK's , which really doesn't feel any different than the Mikuni's I pulled off of them.

Nice build!

I would be curious as to what jetting you end up with. I have the same bike, almost the same type mods. (PC, Vforce being the difference). Even have a STIC to shove in the carb once I get the jetting down.

Keep us updated, please!

I've just had good luck with the FMF silencer's. I went with the standard length , as I'm not a big fan of shorty silencer's ( especially big outdoor tracks ). The black Husky version FMF looked good to me as well.....as I wasn't paying almost $400.00 for the Ti one! Haha.

Hey Kwenske......The RM has been in moth balls for quite some time , but my goal was to get my 125 dialed , then get a new 250 , and then get that dialed ( plan on doing a few races this year on them ) , and then......start tackling the RM project again. There we're a few little bumps in the road on that build that were holding me up a bit , and I got to the point where I was either going half-ass the build , or hold off and do it right. It's one of my next goals , to get that thing going again. I haven't given up on it , I just needed to take a break from it for a while.

Such a good looking bike, and not all tatted up...so sleek and clean. If it was a female it would make the Centerfold of Playboy magazine. Very nice bike Jeff.

Haha! Thanks Ledger! I'm about as excited as I can be to ride this thing tomorrow. I'm down on energy due to fighting a two week sinus infection and working a bunch of hours , but plan to get plenty of rest and give it all I have tomorrow.

It's kind of a milestone for me honestly. I started racing in 1982 and I have never had a matching set of bikes ( big one , little one ) so literally 37 years of this sport , i finally have a pair of bikes. I have a great feeling about this year and the level of the fun factor should be off the hook. Going to try and get my helmet cam dialed in here in the next few weeks as well , and plan on getting some full moto video's of some of the races I'll be doing.

Nice bike! This is making want one of these. Currently riding an 02 cr250 but looking for an upgrade. I'm on the fence between a 19 kx450 or a 19 ktm/husky 250 2 stroke cant make up my mind.

So a quick ride report from yesterday.

Initial start up / warm up the bike seemed lean on the bottom with the 42PJ. So I swapped it out to a 45PJ and it seemed quite a bit better , but maybe a tad rich. Going to put the 42PJ back in and play with the air screw a bit more. The top end with the 172MJ / blue needle in 3rd clip seems to be jetted correctly......But even with the mods I did , it seems to lack over rev. It definitely pulls harder then the stock set up basically every where , but just a lack of over rev on the top.

Next time I take it out , I'll play around with the 42PJ and air screw a bit more. I also need to play around with the power valve a bit , as I'm running the stock spring and stock setting it came with from the factory. Depending on how / where I set that , it may slightly change the way I want it jetted as well.

Was a tough practice day. 90 degree's , track was bombed out pretty bad by about 11am , and being sick for 2 weeks with a sinus infection really zapped some of my energy and strength. I will know a lot more after my next ride. I may just try and pull the STIC metering block from the PWK 36 and put it in my PWK 38 on the 250 to test it. I'm not sure if it'll fit? If it does , it may be worth the test.

Good looking scooter there, well done on the modifications! Best looking Husky I have seen.
