Bought a new 150sx about 2 months ago and started ordering parts based on forum members recommendations/mods. Took this long to get everything (RM backorders) then I slapped it all on Sunday morning. FMF turbine core and fatty, RK Tek insert, V-force reeds, carb mods + jetting, chain, sprocket, bars & controls etc. PS I’m not a bike mechanic but the parts/ and bike was pretty easy to work on.

Not able to upload photos?! ..sorry will try to add later

Why the turbine core over the shorty?
Turbine core is just to be legal on trails. Realistically the bike didn’t need anything but jetting (which came with the bike) and the RK tek head. The other stuff probably wasn’t worth the money or the time to put it on (fmf.. always have fit issues).

Awesome work!
Thanks! I bet a guy (with experience) could’ve got it all done in 3+/- hrs. Fmf pipe took me 3 hrs.

That’s crazy on the FMF fitment. I’ve always been a PC guy and never had issues there.

Only had 1 pc pipe on a 2006 rm250 and it did go on without a problem.

I've had 3 sets of FMF systems for my 2019 KTM 150 and never had a single issue. 3 hours seems a bit extreme to put on a pipe and silencer.

I should have taken pictures. The fat part of the pipe on the inside was pressing the radiator hose against the frame and the top mount where it bolts to the motor mount was 1/4 inch away and so the head pipe was also 1/4 inch away from the cylinder. The silencer didn’t come with rubber grommets (thicker rear would’ve been nice) and the mounting holes are in a straight line, the ktm factory silencer mounting holes are offset which left a decent gap at the rear mount. I thought I might have the wrong bike entered in RM when I ordered parts or got ones for a different bike but everything checked out.

I waited 2 months to get all the parts so I figured Fkit I’m not returning anything and waiting longer. If I screw it up then I’ll just smash it all to hell and hang it on the garage wall and make up some lie about a gnarly crash. Plus I still had the stock one.

My sons 04 CR 125 had the same issues with the FMF pipe. I had to dent the hell out of it cause it was lying on the radiator hose.

don't call FMF. that is 100% how they make every single one.
Lol. I did email them 3 times. They don’t let you send pictures to them by email so on the 3rd email I asked who I could send pictures to. That was around 10 days ago and haven’t heard anything back, not really surprised.

I had the same problem with a yz125 shorty silencer not lining up. I would have had to bend it in a vise to get the mounting tab to bolt up. I called and got a guy in the back at FMF and explained the situation and he seemed to suggest I did not know what I was doing. I sent the FMF back and bought a pro circuit and it bolted right up,no issues.
