Last fall I picked up a leftover 2018 350SXF. I didn’t know if I wanted a 2018 or a 2019, but ultimately, the orange frame won my heart and Drake at Woodstock KTM (Illinois) worked with me and gave me a great price. When I bought this bike, I planned on keeping it bone stock. Somehow, things started being purchased and here we are. This is probably the direct result of living in Wisconsin and being bored during the winter.
There are a few things I need to order yet, but most everything is here waiting to be installed so I figured I’d start a thread. Myself and a friend will start ripping the bike apart, throwing some grease at it, and reassemble it with the goodies. This will hopefully be done in the next few weeks, but with the amount of snow we have right now, having it done by July may be acceptable.
Here’s the bike. Brand new, bone stock 2018 350.
First thing to go in? Rekluse EXP Core 3.0 clutch. This is coming from my 17.5 250SXF, so I need to upgrade it for the 350, and while I’m doing that, I’ll be upgrading it to the Radius CX version.
Another big decision I had to make was which exhaust I was going to use. It was between an FMF and Akrapovic. I ended up going with an Akrapovic Evo exhaust. What a work of art!
Instead of just getting a seat cover, I chose to buy a full seat assembly for it. I went with a Guts Racing Phantom seat, with a blue cover. I really like the blue seat covers on KTM!
Yet another unplanned purchase was a Boyesen Supercooler. I chose the magnesium color for the “trick” look.
I couldn’t have the ignition side look boring compared to the clutch side, so I got a Husvarna ignition cover to match.
Not everything purchased can be seen from the outside. I bought a Vortex ignition from Twisted Development and had Jamie work his magic on it. I’m very excited to see how this runs!
Adding to the blue accent of the seat, I chose to get a full set of hoses from Moto Hose. Thanks to Lumpy for dealing with my questions.
I stumbled upon a set of blue SRT radiator guards this morning and made the purchase. They should arrive in the next few days.
This should be a sharp looking bike with a set of ti Raptor footpegs. Yeah, pun intended.
Works Connection was my source for bling and skid plate. I can’t forgot the Fasst return spring or the KTM throttle cable holder. I meant to get orange, but hit the wrong button. Oh well.
Yet another decision I had to make was which triple clamps to get. It was between Xtrig and Neken SFS. I felt the Neken SFS would benefit me the most, so that’s the route I chose.
I chose to go with an orange Renthal sprocket, one tooth larger than stock. I also ended up with a set of orange ARC levers. Both were scored from a friend of mine. If anyone has a set of black levers they’d like to swap, I’m all for it. I got one of the newer KTM holeshot devices, but I’m hesitant to install it, as I’ll be getting one the new Pro Taper one when it comes out.
I ended up with a used, but very nice, set of Kite hubs laced to a pair of DID rims. The seller included new rotors with the wheels.
A sweet set of Cone Valve forks and a Trax shock should be showing up in the next few days, which I’m looking very forward to!
I ordered a set of Hoosier tires and they should also be arriving in the next few days.
I’ll be ordering a pair of Pro Taper Evo bars, Carmichael bend, for the bike soon. The magnesium color is on backorder, so that’s the hold up. I may just get black and be done with it.
I need to order a chain and inner tubes as well.
The last thing I will be ordering is some TM Designs chain guides.
I haven’t chosen a set of graphics yet, but I believe I’ll be having Viscid make them for me.
If I can’t go fast, I’ll look good going slow.

The Shop
Well that escalated quickly... based on my estimation, you spent enough on spare parts to just about buy another 350 lol. Very tasteful options though - looking forward to seeing everything installed. Also, where did you purchase the Akrapovic exhaust? I've been thinking about that or the FMF, but I think you may have just sold me.

Don't forget to post some pics once the build is done, it will be a nice bike !!!
Oops, the cats out of the bag........Stay tuned!
