I'd suggest sending your suspension to FC as they have some very good valving specs for these models. On a 10 model owned they modified the rear shock internally which made a huge difference in the chassis feel over stock.

I've got a set of 07 Showa FC B-kit suspension on a 3rd gen AF CR250r & feel the reworked FC KYB components are just as good on the 450.
OEM clutches are terrible on both, especially the 450. Either on or off and constantly adjusting the free play. A billet basket and a magura hydraulic set-up fixed that. The 450 motor really benefits from a remap, and the 250F is just plain slow, but responds well to a cam, pipe and remap. The fuel filters are prone to blockage too, so I would recommend the Twin Air tank sock for added security, and frequent oil changes as the injectors are known to leak and contaminate the oil if left sitting.
I had a 2009 CRF450R with what FC dubbed "B" kit suspension, pro circuit pull rod, full Hinson 6 spring clutch and Yosh exhaust. I bought it off a good friend of mine who was the site mechanic at South of the Border in 2013 after spending a good year on a YZ250 two stroke (never jived with it). I loved this bike and in 2014 when my finances were right I purchased a 2014 CRF450R thinking it would be more of the same but honestly I never liked it as much.
Crazy how things like that happen.
I just received these in the mail today. These are 09-12 or 13 model KTM front brake master cylinders.
I'll have to wait on the exhaust for a little bit. I'm waiting for a guy I used to ride with quite often to get back with me on his exhaust.
I was able to clean these with a sand blaster from Tractor Supply. Only I used Arm and Hammer baking soda. I meant to take a picture before but I was just trying it out and was amazed at how well it was working.
I also have a spare Hinson 6 spring set-up for the 450F (everything but the basket) after I changed it to a Rekluse .
