Hell yeah bro ! Im always a sucker for good KTM 200 transplant. How much work was it to get it into that chassis ? I know the previous generation like 2015 and below the 125/150 chassis could accept the 200 motor very easy. Curious what it took to stuff in this newer one.

A bit of head scratching alright and a lot of measurements.

All the original mounts had to go. And new ones made up. Biggest trouble would be the airboot and the exhaust.

Lining up for swingarm spacers and cutting out mounts. Then off to make new mounts.

I thought about doing this with my 200 stuff. I did the swap to the 15 chassis. It was a nice set up... How hard was it to get the motor to line up at the swing arm. I was thinking of using a 16 250/125 chassis. I have sold all my parts but now I’m scratching my head.

A bit of trial and error to get the proper size spacers made to make it a snug fit at the swingarm. Once they were made. I did a bit of research and took a gamble on a tc airboot and it fitted perfect. Then there was remaking the engine mounts.

Pretty awesome you didn’t have to cut the frame out.

Thank you. Bit of sizing up for top engine mount. And altering the tail pipe to suit. Front exhaust pipe fits with no need too for fabrication, which is handy!

Didnthe pipe fit in decently?
11/18/2018 1:29pm
It does. Has been no issues. The only issue I have ran into is I have tried fitting a 150 exhaust system. And I am running into trouble with the fc right hand radiator. But as soon as I come across a tc radiator. At the right price it should sort this. Here it is pack from a fresh coat of white.

Try and find a 200sx pipe it might fit a little better than the 150 pipe.

Yea I’ve been on the look out. I’ve fitted the 150sx cdi and I’m running a close ratio 125 sxs transmission. Bike is very nice on the track.

Does it have to be a 200sx Pv governor or will one from any year 125-150sx do the same job? They share the same part number 503/01.

Best pipe out there for the Ktm 200 sx is the hgs setup my dad has a 04 Ktm 200 exc with jbone head mod, sxs 125 ignition, hgs pipe and pc 304 silencer , rm needle in carb 38kehin bike flat rips

Only little updates, after a lot of searching I was finally able to get a tc radiator.

I also got one of the hammerhead rear brake return springs.

I’m currently running 14 - 48 gearing which is nice. I’ll probably pick up a new set of graphics in the new year. Getting ready to go after one of the doma pipes for it.

Picked up the rear axle kit from works connection. So should properly fit it over the next few days.

Got a great deal on a used doma system for a 200sx, I have spent a good few nights searching for one.

I also found a 200sx Pv governor, so was very happy with my finds!

Front pipe fits well. Needed a little adjustment but happy with how it fits now. Silencer will need to be cut and realigned and welded but will fit fine once done.

First good day out on the bike since the build. Bike is lovely. I definitely notice a difference with the sx exhaust and governor. Bike is perfect at the moment. Maybe I’ll change the suspension next. We’ll see how funds go!

I think it would quite easy conversion because 2015 uses same older basic engine design. Motor mounts are in same position and only custom cylinder head stays would be needed to fabricate.
