Hi all. Here’s a on going bike I built this year.
Hell yeah bro ! Im always a sucker for good KTM 200 transplant. How much work was it to get it into that chassis ? I know the previous generation like 2015 and below the 125/150 chassis could accept the 200 motor very easy. Curious what it took to stuff in this newer one.
A bit of head scratching alright and a lot of measurements.
All the original mounts had to go. And new ones made up. Biggest trouble would be the airboot and the exhaust.
I thought about doing this with my 200 stuff. I did the swap to the 15 chassis. It was a nice set up... How hard was it to get the motor to line up at the swing arm. I was thinking of using a 16 250/125 chassis. I have sold all my parts but now I’m scratching my head.
A bit of trial and error to get the proper size spacers made to make it a snug fit at the swingarm. Once they were made. I did a bit of research and took a gamble on a tc airboot and it fitted perfect. Then there was remaking the engine mounts.
Edited Date/Time:
It does. Has been no issues. The only issue I have ran into is I have tried fitting a 150 exhaust system. And I am running into trouble with the fc right hand radiator. But as soon as I come across a tc radiator. At the right price it should sort this. Here it is pack from a fresh coat of white.
If you put the sx pv governed it’ll really wake it up. Sx pipe is hard to come by but it makes a big diff...
Only little updates, after a lot of searching I was finally able to get a tc radiator.
I also got one of the hammerhead rear brake return springs.
I’m currently running 14 - 48 gearing which is nice. I’ll probably pick up a new set of graphics in the new year. Getting ready to go after one of the doma pipes for it.
Picked up the rear axle kit from works connection. So should properly fit it over the next few days.
Got a great deal on a used doma system for a 200sx, I have spent a good few nights searching for one.
I also found a 200sx Pv governor, so was very happy with my finds!
Front pipe fits well. Needed a little adjustment but happy with how it fits now. Silencer will need to be cut and realigned and welded but will fit fine once done.
Nice build. Love this engine. Check this out would look nice on ur bike Boyesen part # cc-41L
its a shame they dont still make this engine. this is the best engine size better than a 150/250big bore etc
