Anyone interested in a KTM50 build?
Well I’m about to reassemble a weapon of a KTM50 for the season I thought I’d share, it’s had a ground up build, everything greased and checked currently it has 30hrs on it that about as long as I like to run a bike before a full strip.
Cylinder has arrived just need to pick it up it’s had a full port job matched piston deck timing will be done also to run on race fuel.
The thing that surprised me the most was the clutch it only had 0.1mm of wear which I was shocked about although the clutch basket was showing some signs of wear I run motul synthetic gear oils and change it every ride.
Running a HGS pipe and muffler, oval boar carby and that’s about it as far as engine work goes.
Crappy thing the kick start gears where cactus which pisses me off a bit especially after 30hrs but everything else in there was sweet.
I’ll put a BUD oversized water pump and the NIHLO water pump drive gear.
All new plastics and graphics.
It will also go full titanium except for axles at this stage.
Has a Vforce3 reed but I’m going back to the stock one it is the same brand but it is actually bigger with more reed surface area so I expect better performance I will test both though.

Here are some photos of the cylinder I’ll get some better ones when I pick it up.
