Any updates on this man? Part out our rebuild?
I’ve managed to get my hands on a 2016 250 engine (no internals) so yeah, going ahead with a rebuild! No rush tho as I’m not expecting to be back on a bike for at least another 6/7 months at the earliest. The shoulder is a tough’un to get over!

Had some crappy luck. Purchased some engine cases & barrel for the bike from America. Had it shipped to my friend & the parcel delivered wasn’t the correct one. Long story short UPS messed up, lost it and mixed parcels up & cant retrieve it. So waiting on my refund now AngryPinch

I’m not having any luck finding some SX250 crank cases in the UK. I’ve come across a set of 2013 XC 250/300 crank cases tho. Anyone able to say if I’m able to just use these cases instead? If I bought them will my gearbox, outer clutch case, clutch, all that fit straight in? And a normal sx250 barrel?

Any help appreciated!

I think XC cases will work although they aren't exact same as SX model cases because XC cases include housing for electric starter. I think you will need at least XC/EXC model ignition to go along with the cases.

Are you interested in buying a complete engine? In short, the engine is a 2009 250SX with a 300SXS kit on it. The engine has 23.1 hours on it total, with the 300 kit being put on at the 10 hour mark. I don’t have a price. I can pull the 300 kit off of it and sell it with the 250 cylinder, head, and piston if preferred. I’ll be posting the whole bike up on here soon and if it doesn’t sell, it’ll be parted out.

Hey, I’m from the UK & have found that with shipping it will over will cost a bomb. It would totally depend on how much you want to sell the whole engine. Thanks

Glad to say, that in 5 days time it will have been 2 years to the day that the engine went bang & I injured my arm. And I finally got to ride it for the first time yesterday. After a complete full rebuild! Been a lot of complications with my injury otherwise the bike would have been finished earlier. For a short while I had decided to quit the sport and call it time, but the bug soon came back!

Cheers! To be honest, it’s not great. Had to have a 2nd surgery early this year to try to help with movement, but that didn’t help much if at all. I’ve got around 65-70% of all movement back. Which isn’t ideal, but it’s what it is I guess. Strength wise is good though, and after riding yesterday I don’t feel that holding on will be a problem. Maybe some pain after the day though, which is expected. Just looking to see how it goes with the rest of the year, hoping with riding it may free the shoulder up a bit more? Here’s to that bit of hope!
