Hello everyone,
Here is my latest addition to my collection: a HONDA QR 50 from 1991.
I bought it for 500 €. It is in very good condition and almost complete.
The goal is to restore it with OEM parts as it left the Honda factory.
Once completed, it will take place in my living room decoration. I've tried it before and it's pretty cool.

The bike when I picked it up.

Thanks guys!
I have a question: this motorcycle was not sold in the USA?
We never see this QR 50 on vital Mx.

Pretty sure it was only for a couple of years, my friend has one, I think it’s an 88, rare find here really. It’s locked up in his garage to rot in peace as he is a hoarder, he also has a cherry 93 cr250 that’s just collecting dust, and a 04 cr125 that he’s got in boxes with about 7g worth of parts for it.... needless to say, none of them will ever see the light of day again.....

I finally found the second exhaust guard I was missing.
I sanded both guards and applied high temperature exhaust paint.

I installed the new seat cover.

At the end of the week I collect the frame and the fork shells from the painter.

Cool little bike. So strange Honda wouldn't want to bring this in the US to compete with the Yamaha PW50. Thing a little red mixed in with the blue would look good at LLs

The frame came back with a beautiful red epoxy paint. I pasted the original frame label.

Complete reconstruction of the fork with new original parts.

I put the foot pegs with new axes.

New rear brake linings.

Same paint treatment for the cover and the stand.

Great job, excited to see the end result!
Hoping to do the same with my daughters 1993 QR50.
Would love to know the parts availability for these bikes elsewhere in the world as it seems quite limited here in Australia.
Also interested in the gold plating on wheels, seems to be more durable than paint, how do you intend to restore this?

Thanks Cam

For parts I buy everywhere: ebay, French second-hand site (leboncoin), face book forum, Honda dealers ...

for the gold rims, I found the original Honda color code and ordered the paint. I'll have them painted next week.

I’m in the same boat as you mate. Got an 82 QR50 pulled apart in my shed at present and need to get it together ASAP for my boys

That’s a verk nice restoration! I’m about to restore a 1991 Honda QR50 myself. Hos did you find the right color for the frame and the wheels? Do you have the paintcodes? I Know that the Honda color code is R-120 blaze red but i can’t find anyone who can mix the paint here in Sweden with that information. Do you have RAL-codes?

Such a cool project, and it's turning out brilliant! Where did you get that seat cover if you don't mind me asking? The color is a really nice match.
