I’m doing a complete resto on my 95 CR500. Have already gone through the forks, linkage, wheels, bearings and the motor is up next. I’ve had the bike for 3 years and it was a good running bike. Previous owner owned it for 19 years and seldom rode it, was a well kept bike. Rear tire is a Dunlop 739 and 11 years old, front is an MX51, looks new and is 8 years old. Is age a factor even if tires look good? I hear two sides too often. First two pics are front tire. What do you all think?

can't have a restore with those old shoes. Sorry, holmes.

Edit: The front could be passable if shined up, the rear needs replacing for sure.

Replace both. The shiny look on them probably means they are dry, slick and hardened. I’m weird and love the the look of fresh tires on my bike so I always vote new rubber.
