Sold my 1979 Yamaha IT 250 that I restored. Could not contain myself and was all over facebook marketplace.

This ‘01 was close by and priced right. Gold rims and pink grips. My soft spots. New Athena cylinder is suspicious. Going to tear down engine and check everything over. More I look, more I shake my head.

Oh and brake fluid is great for removing spray paint.

Absolutely love the footpeg "extension" that would feel great ripping the meat off your shin.

Noticed the ignition gasket was pretty thick.

Mine looked just as bad and I got it for $100. Ebay has smoking deals if you check every day and I have about $1200 tied up in it total, but I built it just because I like it and not to sell and or turn a profit and and I have more money than common sense.
Got a bunch of new carbon fiber pieces for $50 , 2004 YZ250f forks with ENZO subtanks for $60, yellow plastic kit for $60 and the list goes on. The new stuff I bought were the mag and clutch cover from Boyesen and Clark Yellow tank and BUDs racing works pipe and carbon fiber silencer, but found lots of new old stock too.

For $1200 that's a really great looking bike.

Thank you. I had almost everything to rebuild the motor sitting in my cabinet full of parts that I had sold the bikes long ago and then most everything else off ebay for dirt cheap. Lots of great deals on old YZ parts if you look and it does not hurt that I only paid $100 for the bike to start with. I did get carried away but who cares because its sitting in my basement and I like to look at it but all I need to do is add Gas and its rideable. Cool
