Building a HRC CR 250, 2005.

Yep, those are definitely Giuseppe Bonamigo's pics from Italy. He makes fantastic HRC reproductions and sells very reasonably. He is great to work with and I highly recommend as he is a real craftsman. He also has some real HRC parts he also sells, but none of the parts pictured above are real. The red anodized pieces above were sold by Honda as "HRC branded" parts to the general public around 2010 and 2011, so they are not actual HRC pieces although the factory team did use those master cylinder covers for a while, but never those bar mounts, which have steel hardware on them, not titanium. Even Giuseppe uses titanium hardware on his beautiful reproductions.

Dennis knows Giuseppe and real HRC parts, so you will sell to Dennis "for the right price"??

I have just started a membership at VitalMX in hope that someone in here can help me reach my goal which is to finish my project building an HRC CR 250, 2005. I have about 80-90% original HRC parts for my bike, but desperately need the missing parts.

Particularly I am looking for factory exhaust pipe and the kevlar silencer. I know they still are around out there, I just have a hard time finding them. So, I cross my fingers in great hope that you might know someone that are willing to sell a factory exhaust pipe or kevlar silencer?

Via a good friend here in Europe I have been able to collect some rare parts as well as I have a good friend in the US who have been helping me out a lot and all together I am pretty close to reach my goal, but I still have a wish list.

My wish list of HRC parts looks something like this:
• Exhaust pipe.
• Kevlar muffler.
• Carburetor.
• All kind of engine parts. (gear box, cylinder, head, crank shaft, etc.)
• Skid plate.
• Rear brake lever.
• Spokes. (don’t know if the team use standard)
• Rear brake caliber. (don’t know when the team start use standard) The part I have are of K-Dub’s bike, but this is Brembo fitted on a HRC bracket what he was use for testing. He ended up using std. caliber but did go for a special rotor as far as I am informed.

Cross my fingers some of you can help me get my hands on some of HRC parts listed above.
Just so you can see I am serious collector I have attached a few photos of what I have. Also, a photo of my 2007 still in create and the 2005 bike that will be the factory bike. Once job done it will be stored away never to see dirt.

Thanks
Dennis

I was reading some of the things said about your build, I noticed Corne said Factory A kit Japanese forks, but the forks you have are not A kit forks there full works forks, but with prototype lugs, so they could test stock type brakes on them. They are a set of 2002 works 49mm Showa forks and the upper tubes were changed to a set of 2006 works Showa forks with the grayish mat finish. I know this because I sold them to Corne. Anyway just letting you no.

So, let’s do an update on this build. After a very long period we are finally in the position to finish the bike.

The long wait was on a full revision of the factory Showa shock. It needed new seals, the spring needed new paint and we had to reproduce the lower cup because it was worn and reanodizing it didn’t really do any justice to this beautiful shock.

We were also lucky to source a lowered subframe from Carmichael, hydroblasted it to look fresh again. It has some reinforcements in the corners below the seat and a mount for an extra chain roll.

So the factory Toyo/HRC radiators are about 10mm narrower than the original rads. This is a problem because OEM radiator grills won’t fit. I can cut and plasticweld them but an OEM solution would be preferred. If you have any OEM Honda rad grills laying around, please measure the width. Stock 05-07 CR250R grills are 128mm wide, we are looking for grills of about 118mm width.

What about this little fellow, a quiet important part of the built.

Nice that you got Ricky’s subframe! I remember you got Ernie’s at some point.

did you end up vaporblasting the petcock?, it looked bad on the Instagram pictures

are you going to start the bike at some point when it’s done or not? Maybe with a different pipe if you want to keep those brand new.

Bonamingo is great!  He had a brand new set of RG3 clamps I had been looking for quite awhile and sold them to me for a fair price. He has a bunch of cool stuff!
