Ok, it wasn't really a find since I've known it has been there for the past 25 year, but nonetheless I brought it home. I went home for Mother's Day and my mom asked me if I could restore my childhood bike. I told her I couldn't break it anymore so I would give it a shot.
Going into this I know I'm probably going to spend equivalent money to purchasing a decent used pw50. But how cool is it going to be seeing my first bike all shiny and new looking for my kids to ride?
Plans are to get it running first. I know these things are bulletproof, but do you think I will be replacing the top end/bottom because it has sat so long? It ran well before it was stored.
Once it's running I plan do to a full tear down and paint frame, wheels, and see what other goodies I can powder coat. I know the forks are seized, plastic and tank will get replaced.
Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated. I will try and take photos along the way. If parts can't be found or if it gets over my head the project will get scrapped.

Still have our first PW50, an 87 model that was purchased new in 1989.
