Started with a fairly clean 2008 model, which was a good base.

Painted the frame. A clean up more than anything.

Inside of the motor was hanging. Shift drum had a chunk out of the runner, the shift forks were worn and the rod and main bearings were very worn. Typical wear on second gear engagement dogs too, so needed a couple of gears. This engine is actually out of another RM I bought in boxes. Also note the corrosion in the water channels. Vinegar solution took care of that.

I test rode it and the bike was good, but one of the fasteners on the tank fell out and I couldn’t handle that, so I got some final parts and here is the finished article.

Ridden in anger. Gave it to a friend of mine as I have another RM which I am building to a better spec which I will use.

What tank is that?
It's from Italy, but I don't really know the history of it. It might have been a factory tank made for Sand Racing as it's a slightly larger capacity, although I'm speculating and don't really know. Perhaps an early X-fun model using the original radiator scoops.
