I fit the 2001 works pipe today. Had to tweak the tail pipe alittle to clear the air box and bladder on the shock. Also cut the stock front mount off the pipe and rewelded it to work with the '95 frame.

Its soooooooo close though! Im ready to ride it but its going to have to wait another week until i get back from workAngry

What modifications did you need to do to the forks to get them to fit?

Just 05 clamps and headstem bearings?

I have a 95 that I am thinking about restoring and the forks are in need of some attention. Thinking it might be easier to start with a newer set.

I pressed the '05 stem out and pressed the '95 stem into the '05 clamps.
New '95 bearings and seals.
I used the spanner nut from the '95 but used the upper aluminum nut from the '05. Measure your height of the stem in the '95 before pressing it apart so you know you have the stem height correct.

I originally planned to buy a set of billet clamps so i made a tab for the lower number plate mount and pop riveted it to the plate. I kinda like the blue powdercoat and ill see how i like how it handles before spending money on a set of billets.
Also in other threads on here people argue over the steering stops. I did NOT touch these and i haven't seen any issue with these the way they are.

The upper mount for the number plate i just drilled and tapped.

Nice build. I like the plastics with the blue trees. Good job on a different looking cr250.

Man guys this thing rips!
After getting the needle and main jet where it needed to be it pulls good down low and hits f!#@*^g hard in the midrange. It continues to pull up top but i dont have another decent running 250 to really get a good comparison of the high end. Its likes to be short shifted and to me feels smoother and more fourstroke like doing so.
I did notice it doesn't quite turn as easily as the other stock '95 after newer trees and forks. Its still easier to attack corners and hold a rut than my brothers yz450f. Even he came to that conclusion.
After riding newer 450's i dont think they have really any advantage over this bike other than the motor being easier to ride. The bike feels tight and light and doesn't ride anything like the stocker '95. Brakes are second to none. Suspension takes every thing my big ass can throw at it (thanks Marshall's Racing!) I feel if i lose some weight and get my stamina back i can once again be lethal on a bike or atleast the over 30 class........... god i feel old now! The bike definently wont hold me back!

My youngest here goes apesh*t everytime I start it. He wants to ride so bad too. I reved it alittle and he just laughs

Thanks for letting me know. I really appreciate it. I just got a 1995 CR250 this weekend. Did you have to re-plate your cylinder?

I bought a brand new '01 cylinder and head from motosport. Then sent it to Procircuit for porting and head mod.
