Didn't realize before i started to look for parts how many of these bikes are actually being built by people , i probably would have gave up before i started if i knew what a treasure hunt it is to find some of this stuff. Well less than 8 months into it and i got a pretty good start....hope to start assembly in the next few weeks . Not sure what year graphics im going with yet 2000 splitfire is pretty played out although it does look good and it was my original plan.....here's what i have so far ....still a few things left to get so if anyone has anything to further my project let me know
...the parts i have that aren't pictured are pc team frame , ti front axle , 25mm ti rear axle ,pc tripple clamps , black plastics , flo green front fender , carbon mud flap brace and chain guide Photo

Yes it is Kxpete. Hours and hours scouring for parts haha. Thank goodness for the internet now. Can you imagine trying to find the parts the old way on the phone or by someone who knows someone?

I know these hubs are not period correct because they used stock hubs in 00 but these sure do look a lot nicer, so while it's in the living room these will do , will eventually put on the stock hub black excel combo ....was pretty stoked to find a nos braking rotor alsoPhoto

Kxpete....those forks are breathtaking ly beautiful, clearly I can tell they aren't stock redone with coatings and given the scope (already) including the level of authenticity you're clearly shooting for, I'd really like to know what type of special forks you have, are those the KYB Gas forks ok Ike RC used to run? A-Kit? Full Blown Works KYB? ... They look like a very special set of forks and I'm super curious as to what they are and how you came into them... I love reading stories of guys chasing down one off works stuff in some of these builds it really adds to the excitement of watching (from afar) the bike being built.

Also, by chance what have you got for engine work on this bike? I can easily tell that she's gonna turn out b-e-a-utiful and be one helluva ripper!! w00t
