98 PC CARMICHAEL BUILD

Edited Date/Time 8/23/2022 1:07pm
Hey guys

I got this 97 kx125 for 800 bucks online as roller. The previous owner had pulled it down due to the power valve governor losing 3 of its ball bearings and cracking the outer casing. He had purchased and new case and that’s as far as he got. I had originally had planned to do a 97 replica but I’ve always wanted to do a 98 with the speckled graphics and knew of some parts around. Don’t have to many pictures at the moment as a lot of the bike are getting treated.
Here are the parts and photos I have at the moment

Mick from ninetwo decals as done a kit for me too!
The motor has been sent to get Vapor blasted. Frame and swing arm are getting sand blasted then coated in flo green. Fork tubes and forks legs and been sent out to get kashima coating and DLC coating. I’ll update pictures when I start to start receiving the main items back

Very cool, I'm glad the parts made it all the way to Australia. I wanted to build a1998 replica when I originally bought those parts. The metal flake will look awesome.

I’m chasing some rear pc dog bones and a clear cycra front plate. Will trade carbon clutch cover and Nos Acerbis vented plate

Just blasted some of my parts before reassembling. They came out pretty good. Just after my last post I got word that my frame is ready to picked up after it being coated in flo green, some more pictures to come in following weeks!

Build has been a bit slow. Still looking looking for parts, but I’ve got a few things recently

Wheels.

Getting this front works plate to Australia has a bit of a mission but I finally got it

I notice the rims have a Takasago decal, what rims did you end up going with?

Well shoot, I had sold you that carbon fiber cover and now I'm back exactly where I was before. I'm collecting parts for a 1998 PC build. Oh well. If you bought that front number plate from kx Pete then I actually looked at it once. I ended up taking his cycra plate that was more expensive.

The bike looks awesome. I can't wait to see the finished product.

I just had my suspension built for this bike and the cost of the plate ate into wheel budget. They are tusk rims with excel spikes and nipples

Been a while since I’ve posted an update, here’s a few pictures of progress. If anyone has a seat cover to suit this kit please contact us,

Also if anyone can point in the direction of getting my hands on a new decal for my PC muffler that would be much appreciated!
