Here is what I started with:

Got to work on it this past fall:
Rebuilt the top and bottom end, new piston, crank, some bearings, all seals and most bolts:

Made a skid plate and welded in some mounts, also repaired the steering stop:

Cleaned up the swingarm and linkage and put new bearings and seals:

New steering stem bearings and seals went in today. Put it together a bit today, starting to make some progress:

Got some more work done. Went through the brakes, carb, put the bars on, built some new wheels, and new tires

Looks good. Can't wait to see the remaining progress. Good luck!

I was able to clean up some more parts this morning. Made my own caps for the pipe so I could pop the dents, crease didn’t come out completely but it turned out nice.

Also took the silencer apart and used scotchbrite wheels on a buffer to clean up the can.

Straightened up the radiators and cleaned them, look almost brand new now.

And I replaced the seat cover.

Watch Cameron Niemela’s YouTube video on radiator straightening, I did exactly what he did and it worked great.

Got her buttoned up besides the skid plate. And I forgot to put the swingarm decals on.

Brother you did an outstanding job.
It would have been great to see your own efforts in more detail. You have considerable skills.
I’m on my second restore and it’s insanely satisfying. Fortunately I have 2 more lined up and I’m thinking about a third.
I’m only doing mid 90 Honda 250 CR’s.

I always appreciate the detail and effort to show fellow members of what you are doing.

Is that it for you or do you have another one in the works?

Thanks, that’s about it for this bike. Next winter I’ll probably split my 250 and go through it. Maybe TTR’s too. If I don’t end up coming across a last gen CR250 I’ll end up buying a new or newer YZ, just due to them being current. Thanks again and I’m looking forward to your builds.
