So I got this bike off of one of my bar patrons for $100 and a 12 pack of miller. Chassis wise it is solid; bearings have actually been greased this decade. It came with a blown 94 engine and a retrofitted ‘96 engine with hardware store engine mounts. Also has fresh MX32s as well as renthal sprockets.
Pulled my first dirt bike engine in an hour and a half, the miss matched hardware threw some curveballs haha. Excited to dig into this lemon, turn it to lemonade!
My final plans aren’t certain, will decide once I open up the engine, and see how much work is needed. Any advice or tips will be greatly appreciated!

Edit: suspension doesn’t seem to be leaking

The piston isn’t seized but the kick starter is stuck it seems.everything inside seems to be in relatively good condition.

Is this spring supposed to be tilted around the Kickstarter? Going to build an engine stand out of wood in the morning.

Pick up a service manual, usually can get them off eBay for 5.00$...first thing I do when I get a build going... comes in handy..clutch basket tangs look good... pull kicker assy apart, maybe is not assembled correctly, kicker gears should have dots to align, then spring goes in shaft winds into case hole... if it’s your typical 125 it should come apart for full rebuild....inspect tranny gears, crank assy, cylinder & powervalves for wear.

So one engine is trashed and seized. The good engine doesn't quite line up with the engine mounts. I was told this engine was from a 96. Can anyone help me verify what year engine it is? The clutch cable enters on the ignition case.

Engine #: F134-108022

Pulled the head and cylinder, both need work. Head will probably get replaced and not sure if I’ll salvage the cylinder yet. Appears to have a hot rods crank. Also the crank moves freely which means it’s a kickstarter issue.
