Great job with the build, turned out fantastic! I had picked up an 87 CR-80 last year that is on my road map to restore for my youth memories. Still need to source a few of the plastics and some small parts.

I had an 87 CR-80 new as a kid and loved that bike. Man the bikes I sure wish that I held onto...

Awesome job, had many dreams about owning one of these when I was a kid! Great rebuild and cool story too.

If you have plastics - keep them. You will have a hard time sourcing plastics for this bike.

Great job. Bike is really neat Looking. I had a 87 cr125. Why don’t more guys, rebuild 80,s ? There cool, take up less garage space. Just 2 reasons

I have the plastics but the right side panel is melted from the pipe and the radiator shroud is cracked between two of the mounting points. I am sure it will be years but I will keep searching for some NOS somewhere around the world or get lucky and find some decent shaped used ones to restore.

These plastics can be fixed. I've seen many examples of plastic in rough shape that has been brought back. Just don't toss them.
