2022 Tx300i moto conversion

Edited Date/Time 3/18/2022 7:44am
Stage 1 19 inch rear and moto valve suspension
Stage 2 fc250/450 gas tank and next
Stage 3 will be head and ecu mods
Just 1 practice day thus far after stage 1 but it's already damn good!

Very interested in your plans as I have a 250xc tpi that I ride quite a bit of moto on. Unfortunately I won’t be swapping the tank since I need it for XC but everything else I’m excited about especially your head/Ecu mods.

Today's addition. I like shiny things! Sending the ecu to tsp next week for their tpi kit with high comp head.

Did the tx fuel pump assembly fit in the moto tank?

Yep bolted right up only issue was the tx tank was lower and closer to the quick connect fitting so new tank needed alternative routing of fuel lines to the fitting nothing major just took a little thought

Is the 250 xc a better bike for moto than the 300?
I want to get off my fc350 and onto a tx riding more trails than moto these days,

I haven’t ridden a 300 but my 250xc tpi is awesome for everything I’ve done with it from moto to XC to go’s and it’s been awesome. So smooth and just runs so good

Just a quick heads up for anyone actually interested. I got out for some testing on earlier this week and started messing with power valve adjustment. After some playing ended up about a turn and a half out from stock approximately. This also helped alot with the mid range burble I was experiencing. The pro circuit pipe and silencer are still on backorder and I think im gonna wait til after I try them to decide on ecu and head mods. It's really much better after the pv adjustment. Latest on the pipe says next week but it's been saying soon and keeps getting pushed back 🤞🤞🤞when I get it or do anything else I'll post asap. Thanks for checking in and showing interest in my little project 🤟

On my 21 300 XC TPI dialing the power valve out, or running the red spring made it so lean it wasn’t very rideable.

I ended up having to go to a head and ECU update from TSP, and recently tried the Dicks OEM head cut for raised ports/cylinder.

Both configurations ran a ton better (for me) than stock with the power valve adjusted.

Your mileage may vary.

The pro circuit pipe is on backorder so for now gonna try the fmf system. Also my factory edition wheelset showed up

That thing looks incredible nice job. I just got my coober Ecu yesterday, going to run it with the stock head for awhile and see how it is. Looks like we are getting a bunch of rain this weekend but as soon as I get it out I’ll let you know how it is.

So basically the only hard parts are the 19 inch wheel and the fuel tank?

Everything else just engine and chassis settings?

Also considering the tsp head. gonna see how it works tomorrow. It's gonna be its first race just a local mama series at pagoda mx. Practice is one thing actually racing will tell me exactly what needs attention

The best position is one turn in from flush according to JD Jetting.

I have a TSP medium head on my 21 TX. You should get the 103 OEM map, lots more oil. Pipe, silencer and head is gonna require more fuel.

I ran my coober Ecu for the first time today. Ran really really well. First start it idled strong and was a lot more crisp, not a whole lot more smoke that I could see but it was 80° out.

Out on the track, the bottom and mid power felt noticeably stronger and I was running a gear high throughout the track. Again the bike just overall ran cleaner, stronger and just felt better. I could also tell that in the three short 20 minute sessions on the track I did use more oil than I’ve used in the past. I’m going to chalk that up as a good thing. Overall I was very surprised how clean it ran even after coober claim that the Ecu uses more fuel and oil. I guess my bike was lean stock.

Either way, as of today it was a worthwhile investment. Especially since I can’t tell the difference whenever I get an exhaust but this was very noticeable.

Any more updates on the bike? Ridden it a bunch? Overall thoughts? I rode mine yesterday on a new mx track locally here and it was honestly the most fun/best I’ve felt on a bike maybe ever I’m really liking my XC-i

Not much riding lately. I work at Kelloggs so was on strike for last 12 weeks meaning no money and no medical insurance. Just got back to work today but now it's miserable weather here. Only 12.5 hours on it so far. The biggest improvement I've made was definitely the pipe! It turned it into a beast. Still gonna try the PC when/if it ever shows up. Overall I love this bike. Sooooo fast yet sooooo smooth!

Agreed a lot of people say that the tpi is slower etc but I really like the smoothness of it, makes it so easy to ride. It’s got plenty of power for me and I had no issues getting around/past people yesterday.

TMR said he can improve the porting for MX use of that is what is desired, since the stock porting is mild for enduro/off road applications

Initial in the yard shake down was promising. Hopefully real track time soon. Still kinda miserable here in Central PA.

I would recommend the PC pipe for the 250 SX, I think it runs better on my 300 than the pipe made for the bike.
