Ive never given mx bikes oil temps any real concern considering its only 1quart and I change typically 5hrs intervals regardless of use. I can imagine it being 280* if your a pro rider but likely more around 260* for an average B rider. If it ends up being like 300+ then id like to know and id change it much sooner. I forget what the number is we used in the car and super bike world but its something like every 10* beyond 270* its life is cunt in half. So at 310* its basically one time use

Ill be honest, i think the temp is pretty irrelevant for me at my speed but it does 2 things. Allows 200ml more oil which is good for keeping it a bit cleaner, and also looks factory, which is way more important
Definitely interested in the oil cooler. I’ll shoot you a PM

No Castrol near you? Power 1 Racing probably one of the best oils, also not expensive.
I’m kind of biased as I’m the Brand Manager for an MX Distributor in the UK and we distribute Motul. I’ve been on some of the tech courses and it’s good stuff

Haven’t rode it yet but from what I’m hearing it makes every bit as much power as a new ktm now and 14300rpm

Sweet, you’ll have to let me know how it is I’m in the middle of doing other stuff to the bike currently so I’ll have to budget back up to buy a vortex.....

Wheres that dyno from? Thats just a standard PC pipe and off the shelf vortex map? Pump fuel? Holy smokes those are some big gains.

From my experience nothing beats a custom dyno tuned map if you have someone local. I went from 58-63 hp on my kx450 with the custom map vs standard vortex.

The stock bike supposed to make 40 on the dyno. Not sure why it's showing 37.5

Every dyno is different all that matters is the gains on the same dyno. Plus air temp/sea level and all that.

it is from tokoyomods. it is my understanding it is a lower reading dyno. It could say 25hp or 73hp for all I care, the gains are what count and are unreal. and yeah that's just map 1 on the box with pump. with MR12 or something oxy It should have some real poke
the extra rpm and the +1 rear I added should be great, basically the same as stock gear because of the % of extra rpm

been riding the 18 fc250 since I started riding again, and its motor is great, ive got a great property to really get a sense of motors capabilities and I have really high expectations for this kawi compared to the stock 20hr husky..

Looking forward to hear what you think of the kawi engine with vortex compared to the husky ! The 250 kxf 2021 is looking at me if the engine can compete with the ktm/husky

What was the outcome of the test ride?? I see that it is up for sale so I'm guessing it didn't go how you hoped it would... not enough on the top end/bottom?

bike has 31min of total run time so I didn't get a chance to run the motor more than about 70% but it feels very comparable from bottom to upper middle, the gear spacing is very predictable and linear and it shifts WAY smoother than the ktm's did. for me the issue is the ergo, I ended up putting ktm bend evo protapers and clamps on it and still not able to work with it. I just realized I don't want to learn a new platform, off all the riding ive done 90% of it is on a steel framed bike that fit me perfectly.
Could I learn to love this things riding triangle? probably. Do I want to spend spring trying to adjust to it? no not really. If I can lose a little now than a lot this time next yr id rather just take it now.

Make no mistake tho, its suspension, brakes, gearbox and everything mechanical about it ive got zero complaints. the guys complaining about how rear brake is too strong or touchy are crazy its perfect.
