Starting the build thread for my 2019 FC250. I sold my CRF, with the plans to look for something new, estart was a requirement, and I wanted to stay within a modest budget. I found a 2019 FC250 in Austin, TX, agreed to meet up, and took the 19+ hour drive back to central Michigan with my new to me dirt scooter.

Plans:

Nardo Grey Plastic/Graphics
Guts black gripper seat
Sela Self Launch System
Akrapovic Full Ti Exhaust
Akrapovic Factory skid plate
Suspension Revalve when I have a better idea what it needs

Sela Installed:

First moto, went 10-4 after getting crashed making a pass for second in the first moto

Some detail on the KTM factory skid plate

Quite nice prepreg carbon, incredibly stiff and hard mounting in the rear, but has rubber grommets for the front to maintain flex. Recessed bolt locations to protect bolt heads when installed. Refreshed epoxy clearcoat to protect from mud/other gunk. The fitment on the bike is much better than many of the aftermarket options I'd seen and it follows the shape of the engine to minimize area exposed to dirt.

Heck try to find one... there is 2 used in America. This guy either has an incredible hook up or got lucky to find one.

I paid more than I would have liked to, but the condition was excellent and with some light restoration it looks near new condition. And like SMV said, they’re not exactly commonplace

IMO the closet you will get to that skid plate is the P3 factory replica.
https://p3carbon.com/shop/skid-plates/carbon-fiber-skid-plates/ktm-sp/p…
Maybe the CMT?

OP,
The bike looks really good. Have you got an idea of what you are going to do suspension wise yet?
Also awesome work on acquiring that skid plate.

I’m torn, budget wise, cone valves or other kit options are probably out, I’m only about an hour, hour and a half from Mx-tech, so I’m looking at the lucky cartridge, but I’m really open to suggestions, I’m lazy and don’t like air.

My 2015 FC 350 I am running the Dal Soggio Sphere kit in forks, mirco finish, RT springs. In the rear I have a RT bladder kit, RT gold valve, micro finish and RT springs. It works really really good where I live and ride but my suspension guy is very good at setting me up.

I just picked up a 2020 FX 350. One ride and in the shop for suspension. I am going a different route with this bike. My suspension guy is awesome so we are installing his “shop” Ktech spring conversion right now. My plan is the technical touch KYB kit but my wife wants me to sell the other bike before I buy the KYB.I will see how long I hold off. I will be running a RT fork spring with the Ktech kit, it will be set up really well right out of the box and curious what kind of performance it has. The rear shock I am going with a pro circuit full linkage, a unique valve and had to buy a CSR suspension rear shock because that was what I could get ASAP, it was at the local KTM shop.

Another kit that has caught my eye.. Lainer suspension

Also MX-tech lucky carbon seems pretty dang awesome too!

Go up to mx-tech and talk to Jeremy for a few minutes and I'm sure you'll walk out with the lucky kit. I have a set on my 03 kx125 and it feels and good as good as a set of cone valves i use to have. Tons of tuning options between both versions of the kit for if you prefer a firmer or pusher feel to it.

Small updates, polished the header and hit it with a map torch. It’ll blue more consistently with riding, but it’s a start

Not a ton of changes, I got the forks revalved with MXTech’s mid valve. They seem to be more plush, but I still am not amazed with the initial 1” of the stroke on a landing it feels harsh before it gets softer again, so we’ll see from here.

I need to clean it up and get some proper pictures taken

Couple small updates, have to save a bit before going whole hog with the lucky carbons.

Designed up and had cut a rotor, it’s quite a bit bigger and similar weight. I think it should work nicely

Also designed and had made some custom exhaust decals from MotoPro.

You designed and cut your own front rotor? That's awesome!

You're going to love the MX-Tech lucky setup. Best mod I have done to my FC350. Cool

Got the bike put back together for the first time in over a month, just in time for some low 40 deg riding.

Actually quite good, light pressure provides just enough braking to keep the front end down, and then obviously reduced pressure to get to the limit. Softer inputs make being able to modulate much more easily.

I didn't get to ride them that long, but they seem okay, the initial fork movement seems better, which is what I was after. I felt like there was stiction from the forks going from stopped to moving, which I felt in my hands. These seem like the low speed, <1 in/s seems much softer, which is what I'm looking for.

One more little items before the end of the year, I found an oem carbon stator cable guard.

I like that it provides protection to the front of the cable and deflects anything up or around the guard. A little less protection than others, but likely fine for MX use.

Did some indoor riding over the weekend, so pardon the cleanup needed, but the oem ign protection came in, beautiful dry carbon part.
