I've started a full build up on my 19 Kawasaki KX 450. I worked for some of the factory teams back in the years. I will share some of my tip and tricks on how its done. Stay tune for some pictures.

Here is how it started. I got this bike 4 weeks before mammoth motocross. I didn't have much time to trick it out. Raced mammoth pretty much stock with a 52 tooth rear sprocket and Pro Circuit Ti-6 pipe. Nearly holeshoted both moto's on Saturday and won the first moto. The 2019 kawasaki KX 450 has plenty of power!!!

Step one was to strip the bike down and start sending parts out for coating.

Step 2 was sending all the parts for cerakoting. I like the look of all the engines parts coated. Just gives the bike a factory look.

Front and rear calipers coated bronze

Front rear hubs were machined down smooth and polished. Then we coated them bronze too

of course we had to stop by Willy over at Lightspeed. Willy has been at the carbon fiber game for a long time. Really good quality and the stuff fits great!!

Skid plate with full coverage

Gas tank skin

Awesome counter sprocket/slave cylinder cover

I also added the rear caliper guard and rear chain block.

Looks like it's going to be sick. Did you have to call lightspeed for those? I was trying to find the sprocket cover the other day.

Another plan was to remove the casting off the lower frame rails. Some would call this polishing the frame.I like to sand them down with scotchbrite disks for an air tool. then I follow it up with 400 grit wet sand paper. finished by alumbrite and SOS pads.

Them bronze coated parts look great! Never seen them like that before. Will be following the thread closely, your bike is going to be mega.

little update, of course I went with XTRIG ROCS clamps. I've had them before and the PDS bar mount system is one of the best out there. Huge thanks to technical touch USA.

sorry for the dudt on the new clamps. I live in the desert
