I had this bike given to me by Helder (he's building a sick YZ250) I did some work for him on his suspension and he gave me this bike. He got it so he could rob the swingarm, linkage and shock out of it for his YZ250, but we had a look at it one afternoon and we sort of agreed its in too good of condition to just part out. So now I've taken it on as my 3rd project. I originally wanted to rebuild it completely stock and just have it sit looking brand new but now I think Ill build it up nice get the suspension coated, big brakes, anodise the frame & swingarm, some trick parts, a nice set of triples and Maybe relocate the CDI and do a HPSD set up.

So here it is, it was partially stripped down because Helder almost pulled the trigger on the YZF conversion and had the shock pulled apart to get the Kashima and DLC done, its missing the seat and plastics except the radiator shrouds, but all things considered its pretty tidy, its really low hours its just never been washed properly.

Looking forward to seeing this build. I've got an 06, in my opinion these are still better looking bikes than the new Yamahas.

I had an 06 250F back in 07 and raced it for almost 2 years, still to this day was that bike had the best suspension I've ever ridden, pushed a little on corner entry but it was so smooth. I was never an MX gun (I started way too late) so it had more than enough power for me. Up until 2014 these were the best looking YZ250F's

This will be sick!
Might take a while haha, its not like the RM was the quickest build either though. I want to make this one next level like yours, Ti hardware, maybe ISF transmission.

Wheres your RM at anyways?

Removed all the pressed in steel threads and rivnuts out of the subframe so it can be anodised, Ill turn up some aluminium weld in inserts to replace them.

Started cleaning up the swing arm also, its probably there worst part condition wise on the whole bike. Took almost an hour to clean up the side with the big dings in it. and its still not that great. All I had was green scotch brite, but I'm going to go through the grades of fine wet and dry tomorrow to prep it nice so I can finish it off nice before anodosing

The subframe come up really nice after a good while cleaning. Having pressed in steel threads means they need to be removed for anodising and replaced with weld in bosses. Its very labour intensive but also equally worth it.

Nice man. One of these slow builds over 3 years like my rm 125 lol?
Hahaha yeah I think so, especially with all the things I want to do to this one.

You get a new email address or something? I sent a message a few weeks ago and had nothing back yet?
