Got a crazy ass deal on an 07 yz250. 1900 bucks. Bike was clean as hell when I got it, new top end, the usual 2 stroke goodies.

fast forward 40 hours later I noticed a burning tranny oil smell. Figured it was my crank seal so went to change it and noticed play in my primary drive gear. Here's the tear down pics.

Cracked piston skirt, cylinder needs replated, crank webs are worn. I work at a dealership so getting parts is easy. Oem piston and rings, bearings, gaskets, seals and a hot rods crank all for 330 bucks. Sending my cylinder to powerseal next week sometime for a freshen up.

Very cool you're refreshing it, proper, but are those 05' AOSS forks? Hard to distinguish 100% from the single photo...

Nice deal! Here in Aus a clean 07like that.... The asking price would be between $4 to 5 k.
I'm over it.... I lucked out and got a tidy 06 yz 125 for $2300, which is ridiculous for an 11 year old 125 mx bike ,but here..that's a bargain!Just got a very good deal on a brand new 17 450 but I'm also chasing a clean second hand 250... I would love to get a bike like yours for under $3 k...hell...would probably go to $3k..but it just ain't happening...Screw it! Gonna buy a tidy 12 or 13 yz250 f for about 3 k...bucket loads of them out there...bucket loads!

Yes they are the 05 forks and shock, set up for my height and weight though because the girl I bought it from is a similar build.

Send the OEM crank to Ken Oconnor racing. $140 for a rebuild with Pro-X rod. Better then a hot rods setup! Cheaper too.

Just finished my buddies 05 YZ 250. I like the 16 side panels/airbox/ rear fender combo. Also had 180 decal make a custom sticker kit.

You could buy this off me! 07 model ,On gumtree in Vic, has a PC pipe on it now
